Apologies beforehand for posting this here but I haven't seen an AP workunit on my computer for ages. My PC crunches reasonable numbers but no AP. I run 3 x GPUs and 4 cores and have the appropriate code. RAC was around 16000 per day. It is now 11000 and no AP for maybe 6 weeks. Apologies again if this isn't the right place.

AP v6 has been replaced with AP v7, since you're using the Optimised apps, you'll need to get the latest Lunatics Installer and install the AP v7 apps, or revert to Stock,
also make sure Astropulse v7 is enabled in your project preferences.

Application details for host 6684007

Did you ever receive any APs after we migrated to v7? Look in the seti@home project folder and see if it downloaded the appropriate file for AP v7. I know the 2 weeks after we migrated, one of my machines still hadn't gotten the appropriate files so I was forced to reset it 3 times before the server finally sent the appropriate files for me to get AP v7s.

Edit..

Sorry Claggy, I couldn't get his task to load to see what he is running. So I took a guess he was on stock.

Yes. I installed V7 for GPUs and cores.

Was that Seti v7 or Astropulse v7?

Which Lunatics Installer did you use 0.41, 0.42 or 0.43?

Sorry, just forund the config file and it is V7 for seti at home and v6 for AP. I will change and see what happens. This is the code:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
-<app_config>
-<app>
<name>astropulse_v6</name>
-<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.33</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.04</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
-<app>
<name>setiathome_v7</name>
-<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.33</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.04</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

Apologies again. I thought the AP had been changed.

You'll need to get the 0.43 Lunatics Installer, that came out 18 days ago, it has the AP v7 apps, as well as all the ones the 0.42 installer had.

Optimised Applications and Other Binaries - latest: Windows Installer v0.43

Thanks Claggy. I normally just let the PC run and see what happens. I will download Lunatics app and see what that does. Thanks again.

Well the Mac is out of work again. There are APs supposedly being split but the only couple of APs I've received were resends. There isn't the normal green spike on the cricket graph either, so, I guess no APs are being Split? I see 28mr11ab is still there and appears to be still stuck. I wonder what's holding up the APs?

TBar,

I've given up on Yosemite.

It's crashes about every 4 days. Hard reboots. Always same error. Some problem with the graphics

Last time it wouldn't load. Had to do safe mode.

Unable to correct problem.

Forced to created bootable OS Flashdrive. (anyone running Yosemite, make one now before you need it)

Reloaded last saved Mountain Lion on Time Capsule and running now old OS.

Feels like Yosemite was a force product. Too unstable for me.

I haven't crunched enough data units under Yosemite to be sure how stable my system is but so far it hasn't crashed in the two weeks I have had it. One thing I did note is you are not running the current Boinc and there were some changes in 7.4.26 for Yosemite. The release notes aren't clear exactly what was changed but if you are still game, it's something to try.

Hey Dena,

Wasn't even running Boinc or crunching on this machine at the moment.

Just everyday working and surfing.

Kept locking up when I was trying to open a webpage or something else.

I find Mountain Lion more stable.

This thread encouraged me to try and run My Mac as Stock to see how the GPUs would show up. I tried it last week but alas, I couldn't get the Server to send any Stock Files. I tried for a couple hours...nada. Now, I'm trying it again but I'm having the same results, all I get is;
Sun Jan 25 13:27:16 2015 | SETI@home | No tasks are available for AstroPulse v7

I hate it when I know I'm being lied to.
I'm starting to think this is the same Problem that Beta has. For Some reason, BOINC/SETI is blocking any Mac with less than BOINC 7.2.42. The Problem still exists at Beta, even though it has been reported Numerous times. This is what I've been getting this time;

Now that I've posted that, I'm going to shut it down and update to above 7.2.42 and see if it will send me work.
Standby...

Yep. A short time after updating to 7.2.42 the Server decided it had APs after all.
So, I'm going to declare that the SAME BUG BLOCKING MACs with less than 7.2.42 at Beta is present at Main.
It would be nice if someone would do something about it.

Yeah right. 7.0.65 works fine as well. As does most of the versions in between.
I want you to stop and think about the uproar that would be caused on this Forum if you told EVERYONE here they couldn't use anything Less than 7.2.42. This is a Server Error, not a BOINC version Error. The Server works Fine under Anonymous platform proving it isn't a BOINC Version Error.

This Bug was introduced with AstroPulse version 7 on MACs Only. There isn't any reason for it and there isn't any way to determine what other Effects this could have.
Known BUGS should be corrected.

Other than that, there seems to be something strange going on. I know these APs are heavily Blanked but I don't recall them zipping along the way they are on this system, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7199204
I hope there's nothing wrong...

So you are saying that two recommended release versions work fine, but the versions in between them do not?

Something does look odd with those short run times. There are a few that are low or zero blanked that ran in 600-700 seconds. Which is really fast for a HD6800.

Well, as I recall, I believe it was theorized that the problem was with the Apps themselves. It was a long time ago, I'll have to go back and read the posts again. I think the theory was the Apps were compiled in a way to cause the Server to require 7.2.42. However, at one point I couldn't even attach Beta to my computer without having 7.2.42. So, I'm not sure...except I'm having the same problem on main that I had at Beta.

I stopped work on Mountain Lion to see how those tasks validated. One has Validated all ready. Another had No Blanking, but also found No signals and finished much faster than normal. I'm not sure what's going on there either. One thing's for sure though. If those tasks Validate I'll move this show to Mountain Lion so fast it will make your head spin.

I appear to have found the reason for the Zippy times in Mountain Lion. Apparently, unlike other platforms, you are not given an Error message when you exceed the "Max memory allocation" in Mountain Lion. From work in those 'other platforms' I discovered that Unroll 16 can be the limit on memory for a 1GB card, at Unroll 18 you get the Out of Memory warning. It doesn't seem to bother Yosemite though, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=3933031451. When you reduce the Unroll to 16 in Mountain Lion the times go back to normal and the App actually finds signals, similar to what was going on back here, http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/results.php?hostid=71141.
Oh well, one mystery solved.

Of course, we still have the issue of the Server Demanding Macs have at least BOINC 7.2.42 to run Stock AstroPulse v7.
There isn't any reason for the Server to behave in such a manner and the requirement doesn't appear in any documents...
