Doesn't seem likely, given that the servers run on UTC, but as Ford said to Arthur on Fintlewoodlwix, in an infinite universe, anything is possible.

What do you get if you multiply six by nine?

Rather more than you get if you multiply six by seven? ;)

Well, the answer may be 42, but what was the base: decimal, hexadecimal, octal, ...?? It was a very advanced computer, after all. ;^)

This is new (at least for me):

Client says: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance

But everything else is up and running?

Edit: There is lots of servers disabled in SSP

Being British, surely you know that I was giving an exact quote from both the radio programme and the book.

I'm not getting that response on my clients, but marvin, the Astropulse science database, is disabled. Along with all other AP things.

Looks like they are fixing the AP today. That would be my guess anyway.
Thank God as most of us are out at this point.

The "Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance" message is set when key servers are taken down, normally these are the upload and download servers.
Due to the phasing of the SSP and the actual server shutdown it is possible to get the message between SSP updates.

The SSP page reports the servers that are up and down - for a short while there was a block on upload & download, but those now appear to be flowing "normally" (whatever "normal" may be...).

Well the cricket shows a brief hiccup and then went back to relative normal.

However, taking a look at the SSP, I.... think the speculation a few days ago whereby for the first time in.. ever (?), MB might run out of tapes to split before AP does.

Just when you thought you've seen it all...

Beta's web site is back, but my phone is once again being told "down for maintenance."

Still, there is light at the end of the tunnel. If it doesn't come back by this evening, I'm letting both the phone and the tablet do Main.

Lots of processes on the Server Status Page are presently not running/disabled (Validators, assimilators & AP splitters).
And those that say they are running, aren't. There are supposedly 6 PFB splitters running, but output has dropped to barely 10/s; that many splitters should be producing 30/s. Ready-to-send buffer is less than half full, so there should be no work to send in a hour or 3.
Hope they can sort it out soon, or it will be a weekend without any work.

It seems to update on it's own web site, but the xml files for the stats sites don't seem to be generated for a few days now.

Basically, every process that has to do with AP shows as disabled.

Beta's SSP (one of them, anyway) shows data-driven web pages running, but nothing else besides the upload server.

Even if they aren't directly affected by the problems with bruno, fixing these files is probably a low priority for the guys.

The page I referred to above is the old one, http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/status.php. It still shows a lot of gobbledygook along with the server statuses.

The newer http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/server_status.php is now working, although it took a long time to respond. It shows the same server statuses, but at least the other stuff is presentable.

The AP science database is showing as running again. The rest of the AP processes still show disabled. Still, this is a good sign.
