I have 3 AP6 units that have been completed for weeks. The hold up seems to be in getting them validated. |

I have 3 AP6 units that have been completed for weeks. The hold up seems to be in getting them validated. You are right, AP database is down, so validators can't run and add them to database. [As of 2 Dec 2014, 15:30:04 UTC] 116 4 1426.03 Obviously not going to make it to 0 by my birthday (tomorrow). Maybe it will break 100, though. Anybody have a handle on when the next rash of timeouts will be? David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

[As of 1 Dec 2014, 16:00:04 UTC] Results out in the field: 115 In last 24 hours 15 units received. Anybody have a handle on when the next rash of timeouts will be? I think there will not be rash of timeouts, they will trickle in one by one. Last one I got, already done, was 13th Nov, and it's deadline is 8th Dec "Please keep Your signature under four lines so Internet traffic doesn't go up too much" - In 1992 when I had my first e-mail address - |

[As of 1 Dec 2014, 16:00:04 UTC] Round about 9 am UTC this morning, there was a peak of 13 'tasks received' in the hour - but of course the number of tasks out in the field didn't drop by anything like that number. I'm taking it as a timeout spike: sometimes a host grabs a whole bunch of tasks in a single request, and fails to complete any of them - so when they 'return', they have to go straight back out again. |

[As of 1 Dec 2014, 16:00:04 UTC] I was thinking there would be bubbles of such activity, which is what I meant by rash of timeouts. [edit] It is at 110 right now. Not even going to break 100 for my birthday. Oh well. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

A five day break on my updates, so let's see: [As of 6 Dec 2014, 16:10:03 UTC] Results out in the field: 98 In last 120 (+10min) hours 17 units received. Average "Results received in last hour" is now under 2. IF that stays same, APv6 will be gone in 3 days. Anybody want to guess how many additional tasks will be needed when the validators check the 4799 Workunits waiting for validation? Joe |

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=1604180468 The 3rd one there would be one of the 41,963 "Workunits waiting for assimilation" (Which would then be purged), or one of the 2,673 "Results waiting for db purging". None of which can happen until the AP db is online & happy. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Anybody want to guess how many additional tasks will be needed when the validators check the 4799 Workunits waiting for validation?Joe Good point. Once the validators come on line, the magic number could jump way back up. Currently 90. Has the SSP been switched to AP v7? That seems to be the case now we will never know. |

*sigh* Oh well, it was fun whilst it lasted, I suppose. I will say that it ran down quicker than I thought it would, at least. Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

*sigh* Oh well, it was fun whilst it lasted, I suppose. Yup. I will say that it ran down quicker than I thought it would, at least. Didn't make my original prediction, but it might still have made it by Christmas, especially with the database back online to sort out the valids and invalids.
