For my new build I am interested in getting the 280x. Someone has recommended the brand Sapphire. Their are different choices among the 280x. I saw the 280x on one of the message boards as the fastest for our group. I don't want to spend more money than I have to and don't need anything faster than the 280x. My question is though: Which 280x for our work at a reasonable price and speed? Thanks for reading. --edit I have one 280x, a Sapphire, picked out on amazon for about $286, but I'm not sure that is the best bet. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FLMKNE0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=JPASR9VG68WO&coliid=I1584AHWMEAVRY merle - vote yes for freedom of speech |

I`d suggest the VaporX version. It has much better cooling than the reference design. I have a 7970 VaporX which is the same card in principle and i`m very happy with it. http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-VAPOR-X-PCI-Express-Graphics-11221-12-40G/dp/B00IPZW686/ref=sr_1_sc_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1413377574&sr=1-2-spell&keywords=Sapphiere+280x With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Thanks Mike, I put it on my wish list. The one I had on my wish list I more or less just picked at random. Your credits/RAC are far above mine so I am assuming you know a lot more about it than I. merle - vote yes for freedom of speech |

Thanks Admiral, Looks about $10 cheaper. Couldn't find the exact page though - discontinued. The day I order I'll check both sites. merle - vote yes for freedom of speech |

I`d suggest the VaporX version. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202095 About $270 until 10/19. |

Thanks arkayn, The reason I am waiting is because I don't have the confidence that I will be successful in putting this all together. I need to at least wait until I get a power on signal and that won't be 'til at least the delivery date of my cpu the 21st from amazon. Amazon sometimes has good prices but you don't get the quick delivery as you do from egghead. I just bought a heatsink from egghead two days ago and it will be here today free shipping in both cases (no pun). merle - vote yes for freedom of speech |
