Over the past few days I have had a lot of tasks end up 'Invalid' (2128 currently) Task 3779990650 Work unit 1614336057 Computer 4226847 Sent 12 Oct 2014, 10:08:00 UTC Reported 12 Oct 2014, 11:25:09 UTC Status Completed, marked as invalid Run time 15.62 Cpu time 10.25 Credit 0.00 Application SETI@home v7 Anonymous platform (ATI GPU) Any idea why this would be happening and what I might be able to do to fix it? Thanks |

On a quick look i noticed most of the invalids are on device number 2. Maybe dust bunnies. Check your temps and clean the fans. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Hmm, perhaps an obvious answer - but how did you tell what device the errors were coming from? I recently removed my slowest card (5770), and replaced it with a second R9 280x. So now I have: two R9 280x and a 7850. The 7850 should be dev 2 (assuming they start from 0.) |

Hmm, perhaps an obvious answer - but how did you tell what device the errors were coming from? When you look at the result it will tell you. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=3780094258 <core_client_version>7.2.42</core_client_version> Further down in the section that lists the devices it has them in order. Ok, thanks - I never noticed that before. I've been watching the tasks in BOINC run, and the device 2 tasks seem to run for about 12-15 seconds, get to about 6% then suddenly jump to zero then 100%. I see nothing in the BOINC event log indicating any sort of errors. I downloaded the latest Lunatics installer (win64, 0.42) and re-ran to reconfigure, and I am seeing the same results. I'm not sure if something with the mix of cards is confusing something. I was previously running with one R9 280x, one 7850 and one 5770. I know when I replaced the first 5770 with the first R9 280x a few months ago, I had problems, but that was with every task immediately stopping. Maybe I need to reinstall everything again, that is what I had to do the last time. |

If you didn't reinstall the driver, I'd start there. |

I uninstalled BOINC, updated my graphics driver, reinstalled BOINC than re-ran the Lunatics installer. It looks like that fixed the issue. I haven't had an invalid task since 17:20:46 UTC yesterday. Keeping my fingers crossed. :-) Wish the BOINC client would report things like this - I've probably been running this way for a week and didn't notice... Thanks! |
