For those who are new to Pun Wars, please allow me to explain. A pun war is a rapid conversation across contestants using puns tied to a specific subject. The subject of the pun war is agreed upon by participants just prior to the pun war, so that nobody has a time advantage. When you are out of new puns, you should bow out gracefully. The last punster standing is generally declared the winner. The last punster standing then empties the remainder of his or her pun bank in an obnoxious victory lap post. After the victory lap, a on-line party occurs during which the Pun King or Queen is crowned and all participants and spectators are welcome to post funny songs, pictures or comedy bits that are related to the pun topic. Pun War Etiquette Trash talking prior to the event is not only required, it is encouraged!!! Try to keep your posts to one or two puns per post. It would be un-fun if somebody swooped in with a post that contained so many puns that it kept other players from participating. Double posts are discouraged - you should be having a pun conversation with your opponents, not with yourself. An exception to double posting is made when there are only two or three participants still punning. If one's opponents are taking a ridiculously long time to come up with a response, the leading punster is perfectly within his or her rights to tauntingly point out the lag time with a pun or two designed to "encourage" opponents to concede defeat. Once a particular word related to the topic has been used in the game, you should try really really really hard not to use that pun again. Now unintentional pun duplications are going to happen from time to time because pun wars move very quickly. There is no penalty for an accidental pun duplication, but all players are strongly encouraged to try their very best to keep track of terms that have already been used. |

Rules read and understood. Rules agreed on, maybe. As we are talking about mopping the floors up, (A subject that may give our present Pun Queen an unfair advantage) all contestants may now come out swinging, or scrubbing, or something like that! :):) Go! |

Ok, the battle begins at 23:30 22:30 my time..... Meds kicking in, laters folks! (In a few hours I won't have to 'mop my brow myself, I'll make that part of my Triumph.) |

OK, my meds are raging but, I believe that James is in New York State, so that's 20:30 for me, and 19:30 for you, if you dare. edit: (Have your mop and bucket ready young Lady, I believe that LSM may need help around here, as I shall be celebrating I suppose....) |

Sleep well Celt. May it prepare you all the better to lose. I am still confuddled about the time. If Jim is available at 11:30 pm Eastern time and he is three hours ahead of me, then I need to show up at 8:30 pm Pacific time, right? I don't think that is 1930. |

Well it is not sleep that is bothering me right now, but I'll be back on time. edit: (Perhaps we may bring along some hand cream, useful for the care of blisters and callouses?) ..from mopping floors! |

Angela -- UTC time is 4 hrs. ahead of EDT. I'll try, actually, to join the verbal fireworks, but can't guarantee. |
