CNN, just reported the NTSB, and FBI, will go to Ukraine to help investigate the crash.

Why? What is the basis of their jurisdiction?

Invitation.

I also pray for the families of loved ones, who lost their lives.

There was a reporter on scene when the flight crashed.
According to him, it was raining body parts :(

He also said the russian separatists, where shocked a commercial airliner was struck down.

'They shouldn't be f****** flying. There is a war going on': Moment Russian separatists 'realized they had shot down a jetliner' released by Ukrainian government

Ukraine’s security agency, the SBU, has released recordings of intercepted phone calls
Claim they prove Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down by a group of Russian-backed Cossack militants
Neither recording — which allegedly includes a Russian military intelligence officer — could be independently verified

What's wrong with this picture?

For a plane that was shot out of the sky with total destruction these passports look brand new.

I wouldn't believe anyone.

How will a Malaysian company paying thousands more in fuel to transport Dutch citizens to Malaysia hurt Putin? Ukraine or Russia don't get a fee for flying over their territory do they?

Because I seriously doubt that they shot this plane down on purpose. They probably mistook it for a military plane. Had they realized this was a passenger plane, they would have left it alone.

Still, its a sad day, over a 150 Dutch citizens were on board of that plane. Tragic.

Nothing is wrong with that picture. I've also seen pictures of recovered passenger suitcases that look perfectly fine. As for those passports looking brand new, they always look like that. Its pretty difficult to make them look old and used. They would have to be on fire to look damaged.

A couple decided last minute to not take that flight but a KLM one, how's that for luck!

That's right Glenn, Quantas is the only airline company that has never lost a plane!

You do realize that Malaysia airlines is one of the safest airlines in the region right? Before they lost MH370 they only had like 2 deadly accidents before. And honestly, this is not something that could be easily prevented by the airline itself. No plane is build to withstand anti air missiles like this.

The only way this could have been prevented was if they flew around the entire region. But in there defense, there were no indications that the rebels on the ground were going to shoot at passenger planes, the airspace wasn't restricted, and Malaysia airlines was far from the only company that flew over the region, given that it is one of the most common routes towards Asia. Only now are other airlines responding by no longer flying over the region.

Sorry I have to disagree with you on that Qantas has not flown on that route for several months safety of passengers is number 1 at Qantas and why in the 80 odd yrs they have never lost 1 plane ever

Saftey not profits it could have been stoped if they had done what Qantas has done and flown around that area

True but still nobody has been killed and even when things do go wrong they still get the plane on the ground without anybody getting seriously injured for life.

But hey you cheap out then you get what you payed for a risk that you won't get there in 1 piece

I'm pullin' yer leg, Glenn. I've flown Qantas many times. Many years ago, it was a Qantas pilot who put a tub that I was in down in Shanghai in the strongest crosswind you can possibly imagine. When we touched down the 'plane leapt sideways and dipped; all the Chinese kids (and one grown-up South African) on board were screaming! The pilot's comment, after he'd steadied the ship and was taxiing in? "That's why you fly Qantas." I agree.
