This is basically to point to a thread in GPU where I am experiencing a massive slowdown in estimated time for a basic seti calculation (estimated).

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=75122&postid=1537458#1537458

Its went from a 12+ hour estimate (ok, its a netbook already, but its got an unusually fast gpu for a netbook so I wanted to play)to 49 hour estimate.

I am going to sit on it for a while longer. I think the work around will be to hand re-install the stock seti calculation program via the app_info.xml which looks like I can manage that will a little help from the lunatics.

I hope the estimate is just plain off and will get better...

From an calculating speed point of view what is the difference between a sse2 and a ssse3? My cpu supports both according to the Seti log.

Thanks,
Tom

Those are estimates, not real crunching times, your host hasn't completed it's 11 validations for any app_version yet, once it does then the estimates will reflect reality:

I'm running into something similar. For the past 2 months, I know I'm slow to react on this one, my computer has gone from processing four files at once to slowly doing one. I was processing over 2,500 a day to now only 400. I've checked and rechecked everything and everything looks the same in my settings. Any idea's?

It's taking you a week to return WUs once downloaded.
Have you changed any settings on the computers- are they set to crunch all the time? How many hours a day are they on? What else are you doing on them other than crunching?

Odd, just downloaded more files to process and suddenly it's doing three files at once again. Frustrating but at least there's progress, at least enough to move on to other priorities. Thanks for taking the time to try and help!

Which host are you talking about?

Why would either be doing three tasks at once, Both are Dual cores, and both only have CPU tasks!!!!

All tasks for computer 3189700

Your host with a AMD GPU doesn't have any GPU tasks at present, if it's physically crunching one then it's already overdue, has been completed and validated by your wingmen, and then purged from the database,
you might as well abort it, you'll get no credit for completing it.

All tasks for computer 6643338

You GPU host is running 1.4.1417 CAL drivers, this equates to Cat 11.6 and SDK 2.4, you'll need to upgrade to at least Cat 11.12 to get the Cal drivers and APP runtime new enough to do Seti v7:
