Good morning !

I'm new to all this !
....joined SETI classic very recently, but I now hear that it will be closing soon ! So, I'm now running Classic and Boinc at the same time (and they are both running together with no problems!)

Is there a 'no-hassle' way to close down Classic?
And when is the best time to do it? - I'd hate to close down halfway through a work unit!

Any help or advice much appreciated!

Although I've been [rightfully] accused of being an un-nice guy, allow me to welcome you to the Fora!

If memory serves, all you need to do is place a file in SETI Classic's directory called stop_after_send.txt, and it won't download a new workunit. You can then toss out SETI Classic.

I can only vouch for OS X/OS 9/Darwin/YDL4, so I recommend you cross-reference our fine Windows and Getting Started fora. Someone will always be there to show you the way. :-)

How do I make my signature show the the stats counters as a graphic rather than just a link?

(I bought this, my first PC, in April of this year and learnt Windows etc. from scratch. My previous computer experience was back in the 1980's on a DEC Rainbow - 128k of RAM, 10MB hard disk, running under a combination of MS-DOS v2.02 and CP/M......)

No problem. In a sense, we're all new to this (BOINC is only 6mo old)

The message board doesn't have a counter per se. You'll have to use an image link (<img src="...">). You can add/remove/show/hide the signatures in your account page - Click the link to "Forum Preferences"
