Hopefully Kong that decision will be changed after the election and we get rid of the Australian Tea Party the LNP in approx 6 months from now |

Hopefully Kong that decision will be changed after the election and we get rid of the Australian Tea Party the LNP in approx 6 months from now I hope so to Glenn. “This is not about just Australia,†another CSIRO scientist said. “Australia plays a very important role in measurements in the Southern Hemisphere.†Yes. The Southern Hemisphere is as important as studing the Northern Hemisphere. |

'Greenhouse' effects: Solutions the only solution is to "give up V8", that small people can do...& maybe some of other electric high-cost appliances! ;) & about SETi@home...how to be energy efficient here: - I'm about to purchase switching from full XEON to low-power XEON or Quad for my MBOs that uses 1/3 less power! - all my GPUs, which are on SETi@home are PCIe powered...so nothing more than 55W gets in my computer! It could, but why spend more on power...trying to make up to nVidia's 750Ti or Quadro2000 on all computers! ;) non-profit org. Play4Life in Zagreb, Croatia, EU |

Klik you can argue about being efficient all you wish but that won't solve the problem it's the generating of the power witch there is plenty of from the sun and wind and battery storage . My country is leading the way in that thank gawd , not thanks to the tea party here By the time people realise how bad it is ,we will have run out of time to fix it The Blindness of arrogance will doom us all |

FiveThirtyEight's look at climate warming. When Will The World Really Be 2 Degrees Hotter Than It Used To Be? Can't say that there is any reason to be optimistic, even it the long term even if we cut out all the bad things now. |

http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20160316-questioning-electric-vehicles-green-cred Electric-car drivers are saving the planet, right? Their vehicles produce none of the pollutants that dinosaur-burning, fossil-fuel-powered machines do. That is the standard view, and governments around the world provide incentives to encourage the uptake of this new technology. |

I think it is only in countries that have plenty of hydropower that can have that kind of approach to substitite electric cars. Perhaps also countries with lot of wind. Here we have plenty of it but motorists still prefer to use gasoline and ethanol. |

http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20160316-questioning-electric-vehicles-green-cred Were you smart enough to read the article?... What that article actually indicates is that for the assumptions they have made, Singapore should get rid of their overly inefficient and polluting coal fire power stations! Aside: Hydro-power has a good place for power generation when designed and implemented in an environmentally good way. There are some good examples. Unfortunately, there are also some ill conceived big bad examples. As always, there seems to be a very unfortunate game of corruption and ignorance and the planet be damned... On a very positive note for the UK at least, looking at the power generation over here and for the four days of Easter, we have: Coal fired power stations running down to almost zero; Wind + Solar producing more than nuclear and on occasion more than Gas Turbine; Due to the contribution from solar + wind, Gas Turbine have been producing less than nuclear and renewables! Way to go! This should be able to move to whereby instead of our hydro pump-storage schemes using 'cheap' fossil power overnight, we instead have those schemes taking excess power AT NOON from renewables to then power the 6pm peak. Indeed the way to go for less pollution! We may yet save our planet... And corruption be damned?... And corruption be damned?... Donald Trump tried but lost his case against wind mills "blocking" the view from his precious golf course. "You've Been Trumped". Way to go Scotland:) |

Australia is to show the way forward in renewable energy Tesla and many other company's are first trailing the new battery home packs in Australia . This is a game changer . Australia has the highest per population of solar uptake in the world more than 1.5 million homes now have solar panels . For the first time renewables will be able to have Base load power . It has been said that within 5-10 years Australia will be completely renewable because of Base load power supplied by home battery's . Several State government are now seriously looking to South Australia as the state government has announced that they are going to subsidise battery packs for homes . The cost of this will be offset by the fact the state will no longer need coal fired power stations and there will be less need for poles and wires to supply power to homes and factory's . There by saving billions in the future form maintenance costs and upkeep of power stations and pole and wires and future upgrades to power stations |

So it should, with its low population density and hours of sunshine per year, over twice the hours of the UK. |

So it should, with its low population density and hours of sunshine per year, over twice the hours of the UK. It can also be used with wind power . There are now several new estates being built that have community power stations (battery's storage off 1 megawatt or more )recharged with both solar and wind turbines . So even the U.K will be able to go totally renewable with the use of battery's . http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/4398364.htm The link is to Catalyst a A.B.C science program all about battery's and there use and why they will be a game changer |

So it should, with its low population density and hours of sunshine per year, over twice the hours of the UK. Sorry Glenn. It doesn't work that easy in countries like Britain or Scandinavia as in Australia. The battery's should be able to store energy (a lot of energy) for at least 6 months before winter season that I doubt that they are capable to do. |
