This is a "catch22" situation since it's very likely will lead to greater war when all try to "solve" Crimae situation.

And to solve this peacefully there might be need of very smart people.

Is Ukraine falling apart?
Here is some voices noted by Swedish press from Donetsk, eastern part of Ukraine.

Many, even within the Russian-speaking majority in the Donbass, identify themselves with either Kiev or Moscow. When we visited the 22-year-old rebel soldier Alexander Lubenets funeral in Slovjansk last Saturday the men who carried the open casket cried:

- Long live the Donbass! Long live the heroes!

They said nothing about Russia. And at a checkpoint outside the town, I heard a grim man say:

- We do not need Putin and we do not need that junta in Kiev, either. We are against all.

The US is decimating its Defense Budget, and 'Going Home'.
The best part is the politicians set it up so the cuts were automatic, "budget sequestration", when they couldn't agree on cuts; this way no one can be blamed. Putin is going to invade more of Ukraine and the writing is on the wall, they are on their own.

The US defense budget is very large I'd say, even after cuts.

True but US have lost our taste for a boots on the ground war. What I find interesting NATO hasn't supplied ANY support to Ukraine except words. The "Russian speaking" freedom fighters have ground to air missiles. Where did they come from?

U.S. contribution to NATO is three times larger than the other 27 countries total.
- This skewed burden threatens NATO's integrity, cohesion, capacity and ultimately in both the European and transatlantic security. We must make new financial commitments from all member countries said Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel recently.

Well maybe the other 27 NATO members should pony up three times as much then. Then it wont be skewed for your integrity, Capacity, And security.

Id like to see us be more uninvolved in your part of the wolrd. Id like us to only contribute to NATO what your smallest member nation does. just think of the money we could save. And you could have your self respect back.

I agree.
The NATO rule is that member countries should contribute 2 percent of their GDP to the alliance. Only Greece, Estonia, Britain and the U.S. did that last year

This was the TOTAL defense spending in 2012 as a % of GDP of some NATO members.

US of A 4.2

Greece 2.6

United Kingdom 2.4

France 2.3

Estonia 1.9

Luxembourg 0.6

Iceland 0.1

If you watched the video of me this message: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=74542&postid=1512419 ,
you had to understand what was made by the citizens of Odessa. Not for the glory of Putin.

And they did not want to die, they just wanted to be heard.
For this they sent beasts of the right sector. Their burned, shot, and the surviving women and children were driven to the basement and cutting them out there. It's terrible!

How cynically on your part to put a photo winking Putin.

Sorry, there are no subtitles in this video: Как убивали людей в доме профсоюзов
The girl that was there, one of the few who managed to survive. People begged not to kill them.
She begged for mercy, she was spared, and not to kill, it is possible for the beauty and what she has child a 3 year old.
What she said, it's terrible, it's worse atrocities, personally I could not hold back tears.

Well Putin to the rescue then I assume. Didn't he pull the same thing in Georgia? Does it bug you people that the US of A is way more interested in some old fool and his "silly rabbit" than the same old European drama? Especially if it isn't in English.
The future may not be as expected.

As long a it is US selling guns and not carrying them I don't see any problem. What I would like to see is the Brooklyn Nets confiscated from Putin and returned to Newark NJ. Of course then Putin could annex Brooklyn to save the Russian women and children.

He can have Brooklyn. But he better not mess with the Bronx.

There are massive amounts of money involved in this.
Russia demands $3.8bn security deposit from Visa and Mastercard
That $3.8 billion seams like alot but it is only two days worth of Russian transactions. 3% of that is earnings for Visa/Mastercard, $70,000,000 a day.

This just in;
Putin tells pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine to postpone referendum vote on Sunday and pulls back troops from the border in first breakthrough in crisis.
So what happened? Could it be Putin and his ilk are feeling it in the purse?

It's only part of the political game.
But it looks that the Cold War has started again.
A SAS commercial aircraft was forced at the last moment to change course so as not to clash with a Russian signals intelligence aircraft off the coast of Skåne, south part of Sweden. The craft was only 90 meters apart. "I can imagine that it was an unpleasant experience," said accident investigators Jens Olsson to SVT Sydnytt.

The incident occurred on 3 March this year in international waters, about 50 kilometers southwest of Malmö.

Subtitles for a video (As killing people in the house of trade unions) from my post
Comment to the video:
This is Julia. She is - from Odessa , a young mother . She is ready to come out openly , to speak openly about what she saw . Dropped minute and a half , when Julia tells how she was taken , searched ( there are moments that are removed for ethical reasons ), In the police cordon was that saw everything , but no one intervened .
...
- I was so shocked , I tell you I can not even describe this
- I do , I just did not expect , so that people can enjoy killing
- That is, he looked me in the eye and just shot me
...
- We cried , we begged them not to kill us

in the form of text files with the extension .srt
in Russian
and in bad English
