This is what could have happened. Abandoned Pacific airfield scene of United Airlines emergency landing The plane filled with smoke but landed safely.
I wonder if the pilot put the Malayan flight on auto pilot before he passed out.

There never going to find the plane.

We are still committed to MH370 search, says Liow

KUALA LUMPUR: The newly appointed Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai pointed out that Malaysia is still committed on the search mission for the missing flight MH370 and will continue to search with all their efforts.

Malaysia is the lead country in this and they are going to have meetings with China and Australia. The only thing to discuss is who is going to pay for this. I thought they were supposed to be up and running with the new search by August? Whoever was pinging when they were looking for the black box screwed up royally. It took the wind out the sales and now it is dead in the water.

Still to this day not one molecule of the plane has been found. If it hit the water something must have floated, a seat cushion a rubber grommet, yet nothing has floated to shore. Everyone on the west coast of Australis must be looking for flotsam.

If you had just done a quick google on Indian ocean currents, you would have seen that the most likely place for flotsam to end up, is across the ocean in Madagascar.

There are so many maps. This one shows the current flowing towards Australia in the new search area. No matter not one item has been found. Until then there is no prof the plane hit the water any ware near where they are looking. Or even if it crashed. Even the conspiceary types have lost interest.

At this point, I have to go with the clandestine landing theory.
The passengers are gone. The plane is gonna turn up sooner or later, maybe in a second twin towers scenario.

I mean, how more cruel could the bastards be than to do it a second time?

This is what my younger brother believes except worse. He thinks when it reappears it will have a nuclear device to explode somewhere in the western world.

Maybe the incident with the United Airlines flight that made an emergency landing at Midway island will shed some light on the cause of the loss of the Malaysian B777. The United B777 reported a smell inside the plane like that of an electrical fire and the pilots reported the loss of some instruments before it managed to land.

Maybe this is the reason for a cover up if there is one regarding the missing Malaysian flight. Boeing would be very unhappy if it's entire fleet of 777 has to be grounded until the source of the smoke is found and fixed. Plus Boeing could have a big financial burden if it is determined that the probable cause of the crash of the Malaysian airliner was an inherent mechanical flaw. Could Boeing be forced to pay for the fruitless searching?

United screwed up, there was a slight smell of smoke before take off but their engineers couldn't find anything and the plane took off.

You are correct about what caused this being important. Boeing doesn't have enough pull to influence that part of the world; especially when they would love to bass the blame to them. I wonder if Angus wishes he were still retired in Margaritaville?

When one airplane of a particular type disappears with no evidence of the cause then nobody can be legally found responsible. When a second plane of the same type has a problem that can be identified suspicions start rising. The United flight was very lucky to have been within range of Midway Island. It ain't called Midway for nothing. In the early days of transoceanic commercial seaplanes a base was required there to refuel the planes since none could span the entire Pacific on one tank of gas. if the problem with the United flight can be traced to either a design flaw or a production error found in more than one plane then I think the most likely cause of the disappearance of the Malayan airliner will be of a similar nature.

These modern airliners are built in subassemblies all over the globe and then all the pieces are assembled at the Boeing plant in Seattle. If a faulty part has crept into the production lne it may take a while to track down it's source.

I know it is in Renton, but who the heck outside of the USA knows where Renton is. Most everyone knows where Seattle is. Some people just love to pick apart everything I type.

Actually, around here quite a few people, the opposite would apply, that there are people who work in Renton know about Warton, Samlesbury and probably Barnoldswick as well.

Good because the 777 is made in Everett, 737 in Renton.

I hope you know HQ is in Chicago.

All suburbs of Seattle, except Chicago of course but they don't build planes there either. Does anyone know where winter Park, Maitland or Ocoee, Florida are? They are all suburbs of Orlando. When people try to get too technical it takes all the joy out of participating here.

Whatever the problem was they should be able to figure it out as they have the black box*.

*sarcasm yes I know it wasn't built in Hamilton.
