My reconstituted i7/950 lost one of its' GPUs yesterday. It is still under warranty, so I will RMA it next week and hopefully I can get the replacement up and running in 2 weeks as EVGA is pretty good about these things. I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

"Hard to rotate even when pushed". I'm glad You have such thing as a warranty, To overcome Heisenbergs: "You can't always get what you want / but if you try sometimes you just might find / you get what you need." -- Rolling Stones |

I don´t know if that could be related to your´s problems but i have few issues with the fans on the ACX coolers in my 770/780s, apparently it´s a common problem. The origin of the problem is the break of a small, realy small (less than 1/8" diameter) plastic "o-ring" who mantain the propeller mount on his place. When it breaks the propellers assembly pulls out a little form their normal possition and stops working (the magnets not alling). Since we have no local warranty service avaiable here in my country (to use the warranty we need to send the GPU to the USA) i fix the problem myself. With a lot of caution i take out the fan assembly (one at a time) just take out the 3 small screws in the base of the fan - without even need to take out the ACX cooling assembly so you do not void the warranty. Then I open the back of the fan (by lifting the plastic paper cover) and substitute the o-ring with a new one. I use a metal small "c-ring" to do the job, but you could find similar plastic "o-rings" in old CPU´s coolers fans, just need to do some diggin for the right size. After that all works fine, and no need to send the GPU to the USA for maintenance (something very expensive and time consuming here), and BTW my 3 year warranty remains intact. |

Depending on the part#, they may still be under warranty. I only use EVGA GPUs and I always make sure that -KR is on the end of the part number and register them even before I install them. With the amount of beating that they take crunching 24/7, I'm assured that if anything happens I can get them replaced for up to 3 yrs. I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

Mine are ASUS gtx780 direct cu II oc. They have 2 years warranty. I just have to predict a large AP outage, pull them cards out, pack'em and send them to the resellers with a RMA number attached to the packet. But that would take weeks before I'd get them back. Not good for the RAC. To overcome Heisenbergs: "You can't always get what you want / but if you try sometimes you just might find / you get what you need." -- Rolling Stones |
