Cannot find the seti folder.

If you are in the BOINC Folder, just open the projects folder.

In the projects folder you will find the setiathome.berkeley.edu Folder. In that folder you will find the Installed SETI Apps. You will also find the app_info.xml file in the setiathome.berkeley.edu folder.

Here is Miklos Host Application Details page; http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/host_app_versions.php?hostid=6653993
Can Anyone see where that Host has EVER been issued a SETI@home v7 (anonymous platform, NVIDIA GPU) Task?

Here's another Clue from this post; http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=74197&postid=1488333

I keep getting the following messages and no work:
3/13/2014 3:20:36 AM | | cc_config.xml not found - using defaults
3/13/2014 3:20:37 AM | | Starting BOINC client version 7.2.42 for windows_x86_64

3/13/2014 3:20:37 AM | | Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC

3/13/2014 3:20:37 AM | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 580 (driver version 331.65, device version OpenCL 1.1 CUDA, 1536MB, 1424MB available, 1581 GFLOPS peak)
3/13/2014 3:20:37 AM | | OpenCL CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8150 Eight-Core Processor (OpenCL driver vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., driver version 2.0, device version OpenCL 1.1 AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4 (595.10))
3/13/2014 3:20:37 AM | SETI@home | Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform
3/13/2014 3:20:37 AM | | app version refers to missing GPU type ATI
3/13/2014 3:20:37 AM | | (to change preferences, visit a project web site or select Preferences in the Manager)

That Host doesn't have an ATI card, but it appears the app_info.xml file does. Then there is this Line;
3/13/2014 3:20:37 AM | | OpenCL CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8150 Eight-Core Processor (OpenCL driver vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., driver version 2.0, device version OpenCL 1.1 AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4 (595.10))
That Means he also has a very old ATI driver installed on that host. It shouldn't cause any problems...maybe. It is definitely Not Needed.

Message 1489121 - Posted: 15 Mar 2014, 0:52:10 UTC - in response to Message 1489104.

I am puzzled by the fact that this computer used to be able to crunch SETI just fine. Then I stopped doing it for a few months and then this message came on every time.

When did you notice this problem start occurring? Have you recently added any projects to this computer?

Sorry for the delay, but opened Seti in the projects folder. I am ready for the next lesson and hope. But, please do not let me waste every one's time. This computer maybe doomed to be Setiless.

It would help if you opened the app_info.xml file using Notepad and pasted the contents here. It would also help if you could list the files located in the setiathome.berkeley.edu folder.

I'm afraid you will never receive nVidia tasks when the app_info.xml is configured for ATI tasks. It reminds me of this post a couple days ago, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=74197&postid=1488176

You might try Removing the Old Project folder and Starting with a Fresh one (Projects/Remove), or run the New Lunatics Installer and make sure a CUDA MB7 App is Installed;
Optimised Applications and Other Binaries, 2nd edition - Read Only

BTW, you might uninstall that Old ATI driver since you don't have an ATI card installed.

OK, how do I remove the ATI driver?

Sorry, I don't have Win7. In Windows 8 you would go to the Control Panels/Programs and Features. The ATI driver should be listed there.

Similar. Open control panel and you will see "programs" just under that is a link to "uninstall a program".

Clicking on that will bring up a list of programs installed, highlight the relevant program and click on uninstall.

That's unusual. Single click the file to highlight it and on the menu bar should be: - Organise - Uninstall - Change - Repair.

Edit: - There should be other ATI files there as well.

Example of mine: -

The ATI driver is not relevant. He has a perfectly good NVidia card, with a perfectly good NVidia driver, in both machines shown in his computer list.

Simply re-run the v0.41 Lunatics installer (which I know he has).

Select the offered CPU application on the first screen (the installer will pick that for you).

Don't tick anything on the ATI graphics card screen - you don't have any of those any more.

Do tick the master checkbox on the NVidia graphics card screen, and then select 'cuda42' (second choice) - that's the best balanced app for both your machines, and your drivers are suitable.

Then just let the installer do its stuff.

Good morning Richard(rather good evening to you). Simply re-run the v0.41 Lunatics installer (which I know he has). Rerun it? Reinstall? Over the old one?
