what i shall be doing while I sleep :) :) Good nap I hope! Hi Wiggo! Hi celttooth! Weird dream. @,@ Not sure if it was caused by flying through so many galaxies at the start - but floating down the river Seine on a large packet of frozen mince (groundbeef) with the British army on one bank and the French on the other firing cannons at each other, was a little alarming. I'd got there after crawling out of a window of the Louvre and hanging off a flagpole which didn't hold my weight. I'd upset some people inside I think. :/ Was rather glad to wake up. |

what i shall be doing while I sleep :) :) No Zapped. Special K. Might have to strike that off my bedtime snack list now. :) I try to avoid cheese at night after I dreamt I was driving a car without brakes and hugging lampposts to slow down around corners. Worked quite well, but everytime I did it successfully, the vehicle filled up with rats. Woke up screaming as I recall and quite exhausted too. :) |

Good grief. That's all I can think to say in response :) Oh. Well they don't count really do they... more like punctuation :) I must say, for a few hours afterwards, everyone thought I'd had another incident of plugging myself into the national grid... :) |

Good grief. That's all I can think to say in response :) When I was at college we had a field trip to the Drax powerstaion. The finale was ending up at the point where the output is fed into the national grid. Stood under power lines at 400 kilo-volts (no mention of not opening an umbrella) we were told that at such a high voltage, the bonds between the atoms of hydrogen and oxygen at those voltages break down. And that is why they "crackle". Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club. |

Stood under power lines at 400 kilo-volts (no mention of not opening an umbrella) we were told that at such a high voltage, the bonds between the atoms of hydrogen and oxygen at those voltages break down. And that is why they "crackle". I used to walk home from school under Toronto's largest high-tension power corridor (four pylons wide.) When the day was rainy/foggy/misty the lines would hiss with electrolyzed water. I walked under them with an umbrella open once and noticed a coronal discharge in the apex of the umbrella, where the spokes meet the shaft. So, I did what any STEM-interested kid would do: returned at dusk with a fluorescent tube, which obligingly glowed a flickering green in the intense fields, and waved it around like a light sabre. :^) |
