I thought your rock was under the billiards table at Rocky's. You can have my share of the lemon merenge pie. I just finished the coconut cream pie left over from the VFW pot-luck Monday night.

Thank you Donald! Just popped my head out and with your help have managed to account for the constant brown sky :)

Get's into work this morning at 4am only to be asked what I was doing there?

Forgot the day was booked off as I got a delivery due myself.

Oh Sirius :) Hope the delivery came all right, although you might have forgotten by now :)

My favourite son asked me to be friends on Facebook, the other little mongrel didn't.

Hi Monday! I assume the term "favourite son" post-date's the facebook showdown? :) My sister's eldest son has rebuffed all friend requests from all family :) they seem to be disappearing into a friend request black-hole somewhere in the world wide web :) because he says he never received them.

Same with my friend Sofie over here. Her son Wolf won't be friends with her on fb but her daughter Luka is:)

Hi Julie :) it does seem to be less common with daughters than with sons I think... hmm... :)

Sons don't want you to see all the almost-porn pages they Like.

<--- NOT on FB, never will be. It isn't secure.

(Same with Twitter.)

You are a wise man Timelord04!!! I accidentally got on twitter when I thought I had to join to read a theatre review. I was offered a whole list of people to follow (who I would only do so if they were heading towards a high cliff) so declined all and ended up being my only follower following myself. Got so dizzy keeping track of my rear end I forgot my password and have never been back. I know I could probably retrieve the account - but I also know I could jump under a train...

Message 1496499 - Posted: 28 Mar 2014, 8:12:39 UTC

This facebook thing in staying in touch with family is not my cup of tea. I have a kid who, From what I hear from face to face encounters with other family members, Left their said spouse. That was 9 months ago. I refuse to join said facebook just to be able to keep up on the gossip. But Im told if I want to know whats going on I need to join. I say a BIG B.S. !!!!!!

If a kid cant call a parent and say, Hey dad it didnt work out, But can share it with tens of thousands of face book friends, Then I give up.
I think this social media thing sucks big time. If you dont Twit or facebook your crap.
Its bad enough that the NSA can read or hear anything you say or type. Why the hell do kids now days post their life for all to see?

Call me a luddite but Im not calling or E-mailing or joining twitter or face book to find out what the hells going on. As a parent I should have been the first to know before the ten thousand facebook freinds.

Sorry for my rant.

:) I liked your rant! The world was given a sweet, and we sucked on it without asking what lay at the centre. And the centre is bleuch!!!!!!!!!!!! My theory is that if we had allowed our children to write on walls, there would be no facebook. We should have allowed our children to write on walls :)

My other son has sent me a friend request tonight and so has redeemed himself. He probably remembered his birthday is only a couple of weeks away. He will be 12.

I have much the same problem with my partner when she has ago with me (generally with justification I must admit), but being hard of hearing I can (and do) turn my hearing aids off !

Hi Luigi! Scuse me while I go check my other half's ears :)................

.......................................

.........................................................

no... could find no sign of a hearing aid... on or off...

would you say therefore that when he apparently can't hear me he is... perhaps... not using his ears correctly somehow? :)

The closest I get to social networks is this message board.

Hi um... Volunteer tester :)

You're not alone. I refuse facebook and twitter, or any other so-called "social networks". Have never happened, will never happen. If people wants to communicate with me, they can either call me on my phone, send me a normal E-mail, or come visiting me at home. To H*** with all these "social networks".

The closest I get to social networks is this message board.

Thank you for telling me Im not alone. Im catching flack for not being a lemming and jumping off the social network cliff. I refuse to have any contact on a BS network when said kid cant even send me a E-mail or phone me.
And the crap I get when I ask how siad kid is doing the answer I get is we cant tell you, You have to get on facepuke. Yeah like thats a big secret to the 10,000 friends.

There is no reason for anyone giving you any flack over it James (and if they do then just tell them to stuff off).

I only use Facebook because M$ in their stupidity killed Messenger and I wasn't going to be forced over to Skype. My kids already had Facebook so I imported my 30 odd close relo's and close friends over to that.

If I wasn't living many hundreds of kilometres from most of them and long distance phone calls here wern't so expensive here then I wouldn't even have Facebook.

Cheers.

Then he has that ability of being able to concentrate on something else whilst the better half is talking to him and mumbling 'Yes Dear' and 'No Dear' at appropiate intervals. This is an art, because he must make sure things like 'New curtains/kitchen/bathroom' don't slip by.

This process was beautifully described by Terry Prachett in the 'Fifth Elephant'.

:) it's odd really... because I don't tend to talk about things like that... I try to find something he's interested in... like football... and then discusss how I'd change the rules to make it more interesting :)

I quite like the offside rule :) it allows me to say things like... "so why doesn't everyone just run into their goal just before the other team kicks the ball?"

He makes a lot of groaning noises then... which suggests he might actually have been listening to me after all :)

over only getting a hundred bucks for that car. I am betting
that it was because the steering wheel was on the wrong side.....
