http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=1340524457 is a case we've seen many times before, one of the original two hosts times out and the WU is sent to a third, then the timeout reports late (almost nine days in this case) and now the WU is stuck in my valid list since October because the third host, though now irrelevant, hasn't reported it yet. Except the third host is one of the also-familiar download a bunch of work and never contact the servers again bunch. So I'm wondering if the database will handle this the most sensible way and just purge it after the third host times out, or if it will see the error and send it to a fourth even though it's not needed. It should clear 24hrs after that 3rd task times out (well that's what's suppose to happen). Cheers. |

It... should clear itself up if the third task does not report. If it does report.. it will be in permanent limbo. Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

It... should clear itself up if the third task does not report. If it does report.. it will be in permanent limbo. It's not an AP WU. From the few similar cases I've seen on MB I belive it will clear up whether or not the third task is reported. Joe |
