Sometimes I also have to consider whether I'll be available to run the thread while it's mine. For example, if I'm right on my current guess, I'll have to either find something easy or let someone else do it because I expect to be busy tomorrow and even busier Friday and Saturday. It wouldn't be fair to everyone else for me to post something and then not be here to say whether the guesses are correct.

My experience is similar David, and has held me back sometimes from taking a guess. I think people just have to be patient, and realize some of us have a life away from the computer. I don't think the world would end if the winner takes a day or three to post a new picture, or to reply to guesses.

I had found a previous tool, but refrained from guessing because I was about to disappear for a week into a place with no internet connections at all.

In reference to the story game: I am excited that it took off when another user tried it. I think I tried to get one going about two or three years ago but my criteria was one word, or something that made the game unbearable.

Speaking of which... Gordon, if you read this, the thread is over 800 posts, maybe it's time for part 2? :)

Had to dig an old scavenged HDD out of the parts box to recover that. 23 February 2009.

Turns out it's still visible in the thread - Panic Mode On (13) Server problems. Imageshack threatened to delete all images on that old hosting account.

You might be surprised what one can find using the advanced search of the Seti forums...they do go back a looooooooooong ways. Of course, many old posted links are now broken.
Surprised as well that yours is not.
