We all are waiting for Jason´s to unleash an optimized version of the cuda target to the 780/Titan new processor. Hope this version will unleash even more the power of this babies (fingers crossed). Yeah, since we have the Linux build system more or less up to scratch now (for x64 anyway), it's really only going to take some care to ensure I don't break that along the way. Most likely I'll be bringing some of the ruggedisation the Windows build has across as I go along, so things should be more or less on par. x86 seeems to be a different kettle of fish on Linux, so there is a small performance sacrifice having to run 64 bit addressing on the GPU for now. Whether that cross compilation situation improves or not is one question I have going forward, though I do expect If I build under a 32 bit distro, it should work on those. EVGA's GTX780i KINGPEN is finally here at last -- popped up on their web site today. I'm still saving my nickels & dimes, so please save me at least one!! http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=03G-P4-3888-KR [edit]Upon further reading about this card, it appears that in a few weeks there will be an exclusive build-to-order program going into effect -- interesting. http://www.evga.com/articles/00813/#Kingpin[/edit] I don't buy computers, I build them!! |
