And things got painful, really painful for Joan and Cheri.......
Both of them pulled up at the last possible moment.
You can't be over 18 and still be a Runaway, I guess.

I am still in freefall. I have not had their 'moment of clarity' yet.
I still can force myself to be sober for a week at a time.
And then justify my crash and burn weekends.

What is getting harder and harder for me to deal with is Lori's roller coaster relationship with me.
Yes, I have told her about Jett. And she knows I am not about to go off chasing her as it's simply impossible. So that's not an issue. When I look into Lori's eyes, there is nobody else but Lori looking back at me. Joan is not there.
She knows that, and I hope that some of you understand that too, when I wax on about JJ. She is now someone that I turn to in my dream world at times, as I have since we met almost 40 years ago. That moment is something that shall remain with me until I pass, and I think rightfully so.

What keeps Lori around is the fact that I saved her from my fate years ago.
She turned the corner.......and has never doubted herself since.
Lori is sooooooooo much stronger than myself.

One day, not too long from now, I must face the cliff that Joan and Cheri did, and just jump. Which is impossible for me to do right now, as I can only see the walls rushing up at me......so I back off every time.

Full panic stop.......you have seen me do that here more often than not.

There are some wonderful thingys in the Runaways soundtrack.
True gems. NOT from Jett and crew.

The most important one to remember was Wild One.....by Suzi Quattro.
This is sooooooo relevant because of two points.
One, it has special significance to me because I have a bit of history with Suz.
And secondly, she was Joan's primary influence....

Next, and this is a painful scene. Jett has just been told by her first guitar instructor that 'gurlz don't play rock and roll'.....
So, she is wandering the street and It's a Man's World rolls.
One is not quite sure at that moment which way Joan is gonna roll......

Roxy Roller.......LOL. This cut speaks for itself.

I think Rebel Rebel by Bowie missed the mark. Yes, she became a rebel.

I did not realize that I wanna be your dog was not a Runaways original when she whispered that into my ear that night.

I'm just going to open the door, okay? I leave it open for others to walk through. It is amazing what happens when somebody walks up to the door an realizes that it has finally been opened for them. And then they walk trough to the other side. I have done that for many people now. I have.
What I do not know myself, I ask of you.
These are not worthy questions I ask?
Profound at times? Yes.
I suspect they are.

And regardless of my state of mind when asking, the questions are still valid in the morning when I wake up.
Few have been answered in the hours between dusk and dawn.

When one reveals themself as I have done/.
There is something in a kind of revealing way, I think.

I am not sure how it works.

I am not sure I can say how it does. But it does.

I can only tell you that is does. And it can. And it will unveil who and what you are.

I could give you every single moment have had in my life, but it would take hours.

And, frankly, I don't know if I have that many to spare these days.
I have, I think, just a few moments to share with you now.

It has to do with conceptual reality, basic concepts that cannot be conveyed by simple thought. They are simply there from birth. They cannot be learned or transferred. You are born with it, or not.

I was born with so many burdens.
The conceptual reality thingy was the least of them.
Things got a bit more complicated after that.

I started to learn that I could tell myself things, and they would then become reality. In the hands of a teenager, this became trouble very quickly.
