I tell ya what. It was a close finish, something I never quite expected. It has literally brought me to tears. I am serious. And crying.....LOL. If I got to go to hell, I'm going there crunching Seti. For sure. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

What changed? I'm even more confused now. My team is GPUUG. I bid on GPUUG originally. There should be no ambiguity who I intended the pledges for. Anyway it should be clear to the "officials". I gotta sign off now. |

IF AND ONLY IF the total Raccoon Lovers bid is $1626 as I can't get an answer then I pledge $430. Otherwise if it's $1326 I leave my bid at $200. As per Petri's statement, the 2nd place team would be given 300$ 1 minute before bidding ended. At one minute before bidding ended, Raccoon's bid was indeed $1626. At this point, Mr. Kevvy's big would then be increased to $430. Is this not so? The winner will be determined by a game of semantics. |

Hopefully white or black, and not fifty shades of beige... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Unlock, Unlock... Fifty shades seems to be a popular book this year. Christmas presents, perhaps for a certain special loved one....LOL. Oh, you got to get the autographed handcuffs to go with the special edition hardcopy. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Unlock, Unlock... It's white smoke. The GPUUG has won. Actually, Seti was the true winner. And that was my intent from the get-go. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Well, IMHO, You did say the End was at 20:22 UTC. The Questionable Bid was posted at 20:22:38 UTC By my count, the last bid by Mr. Kevvy was late...by 38 seconds... |

Let's make this clear, he said he would increase his bid to $430 if the Raccoon Lovers bid was $1,626. It was not. Also you make a good point with the time stamp. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

OK I cancelled leaving. So much for my Saturday night. :^p Dutch Power Cows a bid of $400, then [DPC] hansR upped it by $100, so $500.00 total Which means their bid was $1,626. IF AND ONLY IF the total Raccoon Lovers bid is $1626 as I can't get an answer then I pledge $430. Otherwise if it's $1326 I leave my bid at $200. I added $230 to my $200 initial bid. $1,397 + $230 = $1,627, $1 ahead. I think Mark understood. I never saw the conditions on that $300 bid which is why I covered in case it was valid. I was on a tablet at a friend's place... can't exactly read all those pages. Anyways, I've made my point and will abide by whatever decision is agreed on. If it goes to Raccoon Lovers although that's $430 less from me for SAH I've still earmarked a bunch for Green Bank for this year (hope I hear back finally on it) so no loss. If there is no agreement then I think Dr. Korpela should be the ultimate arbiter. |

Well, IMHO, You did say the End was at 20:22 UTC. LOL, by a few seconds, within my specifications of by 20:22. By MY count. And pardon me, but I don't see that you had an iron in the fire, my friend. Mr. Tbar. Did you? If so, I missed it. I did not tie it so tight that seconds counted. Minutes did. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Let's make this clear, he said he would increase his bid to $430 if the Raccoon Lovers bid was $1,626. It was not. at the time of his bid (and Mark didnt' say 20:22:00 and his post actually was edit 20>23:soemting) the raccoon lovers had the $300 from petri as it was less than 1 minute to end,. bringing the total to the 1626 Kevy specified as prerequisite for his raise. I'm calling for indenpendent arbritration (however that's supposed to be spelled) Sadly all the usual suspects seem to be on one of eiterh teams or have posted bids. Uli, sorry you have a bid going towards the Raccoon lovers - 'befangen' A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

As this seems to have become total confusion. I suggest as it was Marks auction he decided the rules he should;d have the final decision. I am sure all teams will abide by it. |

Let's make this clear, he said he would increase his bid to $430 if the Raccoon Lovers bid was $1,626. It was not. I have no problem with outside arbitration on this. Although I am at a loss to suggest the arbitrator. I would have suggested Eric, but Angela has a iron in the fire. Perhaps my....LOL....good buddy Fred might want to intervene/. He has been my guiding light for some time now.......LOL. Fred, any insights? "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Well, IMHO, You did say the End was at 20:22 UTC. It's your thread, do as you wish. In Astronomy, 20:22 is not 20:22:38. Even if you round it off, it's still late... |

As this seems to have become total confusion. I gave my decision, yet some seem to have lingering questions. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
