... 3 sites affected... So, your trick now is just to waste everyone's time on a wild goose chase over nothing much... No useful discussion from you, no details, just mud slinging. Shame on you. [Repost to omit a one too vulgar link] For a light hearted giggle, there's these two parodies: (Those of a sensitive disposition, please do not click!) YouTube: Bill gates or Hitler (funny SubTitles) Unfortunately, Hitler doesn't like the alternative either... Balanced over on Message 1409298 with a similar giggle :-) Catch them while you can before the USA DMCA "takedown" hits them... IT is what we make it! ... 3 sites affected... Still won't read it, or allow it to sink in will you ... You are the one who posts how secure it is. I guess you refuse to allow that means all parts of it, not just a tiny fly spec part. |

... 3 sites affected... Your absolutism blinds you to the real world and the mess of the rest of the world. Now, apply your rules to your own favoured OS and what do you get?... Now, apply your rules to your own favoured OS and what do you get?... And you are going to love this, my favored O/S is Unix(R). I get the very same answer I get for Linux, but that is no surprise, Linux is a rip off of Unix(R) so it should have all the same flaws. Oh, you thought I went for M$? |

Sudo like flaw all over again ... And forever continued mud-slinging from you to randomly post to pollute this thread. More appropriate would be post that on one of the IT/Computer trust threads that are already started. Also note that problem is at an application level and is very likely on Windows systems in any case... Now, have you EVER ANYTHING POSITIVE to post?... Thankyou. IT is very much what we all make it... Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Now, have you EVER ANYTHING POSITIVE to post?... Thankyou. Is that all this thread is for? Can you EVER POST ANYTHING POSITIVE about Windows (without it being a backhanded slap)? |

http://info.publicintelligence.net/DHS-FBI-AndroidThreats.pdf Android is the world's most widely used mobile operating system (OS) and continues to be a primary target for malware attacks due to its market share and open source architecture. Come again? The US Government says that users of a Linux O/S, Android, need to install and update antivirus software?!!! |

Now, have you EVER ANYTHING POSITIVE to post?... Thankyou. There's the "Windows8: The Beginning of The End? Or... Win9 v soon!?" thread. Please add your own posts to highlight the wonder to be revealed. Or even start your own positive thread... IT is very much what we make it... Sometimes mirrors are hard to look into. Sorry, can't compete with your greater experience of rebuke and schoolyard banter. Watch out for the sunlight! You may yet turn to stone... Come again? The US Government says that users of a Linux O/S, Android, need to install and update antivirus software?!!! Really...? Or is that some Microsoft sponsored FUD? Or some dumb bureaucrat lost in the ways of Microsoft systems and expectations? As far as I'm aware, Microsoft systems are still the ONLY systems to suffer live viruses-in-the-wild... (Note, that's distinct from such as exploits and trojans and malware...) Meanwhile, Linux continues to predominantly run the internet and most supercomputers and most 'high value' 'assets'. Expect Google to very quickly sharpen up its act for Android... IT is what we make it... Now, have you EVER ANYTHING POSITIVE to post?... Thankyou. What makes you think I have any interest in the Windows8 thread or starting my own with the same topic? Or should you change this thread to "Linux has hit the world in only positive, secure ways"? Do you always prefer to silence alternate viewpoints like you tried to by splitting up the climate change threads? |

What makes you think I have any interest in the Windows8 thread or starting my own with the same topic? Or should you change this thread to "Linux has hit the world in only positive, secure ways"? Do you always prefer to silence alternate viewpoints like you tried to by splitting up the climate change threads? Do you have something positive and useful to add of interest? Note, this thread is about interesting snippets of what is new in the world of Linux and FLOSS. As for the climate threads, the split is to avoid the denialist banter polluting a thread about what is being positively done about combating climate change rather than arguing against reality. You are very welcome to start your own thread about all the evidence for the world actually cooling and our pollution is not happening, if that is possible. Trashing and vandalism is easy. Usefully building something for the good of all requires good education for a start. Motivation helps further to continue... What world do you want? IT is very much a part of the world we make for ourselves... Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Do you always prefer to silence alternate viewpoints like you tried to by splitting up the climate change threads? I find the security flaws of Linux quite interesting against your claims of security and superiority. Trashing and vandalism is easy. Usefully building something for the good of all requires good education for a start. Motivation helps further to continue... Agreed - so why don't you apply the same logic to every Windows thread you trash or spread FUD in? What world do you want? A fair and balanced one that provides all the information required to make an informed decision. |

... A fair and balanced one that provides all the information required to make an informed decision. Does this answer your "fair and balanced"? Who's Afraid of Linux Malware? In contrast there are various "Microsoft" jokes (just one example) on the web about how Windows has been so successful for so lowering people's expectations of computers and computing... Why do you not see such jokes for other systems?... Indeed, why do you think I moved over to Linux after many years of development work in other environments?... IT is what we make it... At first I wondered by there weren't any good Linux jokes. Then I installed Linux and finally realized that the greatest Linux joke was right there in front of me. |

Or is that some Microsoft sponsored FUD? Those must be some really good mushrooms you have. |
