Parsley?

Oh, I am getting my computers back now.

Glad you are back online, Ian.
Not Parsley. Parsley may be used to prepare the items this container stores, but the container is not designed to store parsley or other dry herbs.

Is the item generally refrigerated? If it also comes in commercial packages, do said packages say "refrigerate after opening"?

They are, and they do, usually glass jars.

I thought so, but I wanted to find a new thing to post before making my official guess: olives.

(Now watch karma kick me in the butt for arrogance.)

Not olives, but we are getting closer.

Green, larger than olives or grapes, needs refrigerating after opening.

I was right about karma.

My next, more humble guess: pickles.

And this time you are correct.

I don't have a picture of it in use, but this goofy container is used for storing small pickles. There is a reservoir below the main chamber for the juice, so the pickles don't get too soggy.

PM on the way.

On the other sides of the ponds from America we usually call them Gherkins, which I had a feeling it was.

Cheers.

That would have been an acceptable answer. Some American brands include the word "gherkin" on the label.

On a totally different note, the surgeon who cleaned up my Mother's ruptured appendix was named Phyliss Gherkin (MD, Ph.D. F.A.C.S.).

Ah hah. Thanks for the win.

I've been out of the house all day and still am, but I'm prepared. The new item will be up shortly.

Well, this is not nearly as shortly as I intended, but at least I didn't go to sleep first.

So, what is this?

There are hints available, but let's start with the minimum. I'll just say it's not anything I would ever waste my money on.

Now that I've given it away (and a bunch of others I could have used, too) what did you think it was?
