Message 1393321 - Posted: 21 Jul 2013, 16:57:17 UTC

Not sure if this is the correct forum.
I have noticed for the last couple of weeks a number of my SETI@home v7
Anonymous platform (NVIDIA GPU) tasks have been marked as invalid with no credit given.
If anybody could give me a non technical explanation as to why this is happening and what if any remedy I can apply the assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Look your tasks, most of them are inconclusie or invalid, someone else will give you the tecnhical information, but thats is an indication of a possible configuration or GPU problem.

Something's afoot there.
I see NO valid GPU tasks.

You're in the right place, John.

Wish I had more immediate answers.

Thanks for the response.
After checking this is what I found out.
State: All (177) · In progress (17) · Validation pending (52) · Validation inconclusive (71) · Valid (0) · Invalid (37) · Error (0)
Application: All (177) · AstroPulse v6 (2) · SETI@home Enhanced (1) · SETI@home v7 (174)
Thing is I have not changed anything to the best of my knowledge.
Platform all the same no recent changes.
When I noticed the errors a little while back I updated my driver to 320.49.
Don't remember getting so many invalids with V6.0

No.
Something is totally broken.
Not just the occasional error there.
Borked.

Could help but not forget to first DL the latest driver compatible with you GPU form the nvidia site and reinstall it from a clean instalation (on advanced options from the driver install).

You could try rerunning the Lunatics, installer. Would not hurt anything.
My mind is just running too slow this morning to come up with what should probably be a no brainer.

I'm sorry for that.

Have reinstalled driver (clean install)
Have reinstalled Lunatics x64 (v0.41)
Will now let run for a while and see if the results improve.
Thanks for the advice.

A good portion of your invalids, as well as quite a few of your pendings, for GPU work are showing as (-9) overflow errors. IIRC, one of the causes of these errors is GPU overheating. How are your temps on the GPU?

Averaging 47-50C. Full load.
Well ventilated case and using custom fan curve via EVGA Precision.
Games are usually more taxing and they run fairly cool too.
Cooling well so far.

You just complete your first validated task: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=3075392580 so keep looking if all fixes.

An if all is ok you could try to run 2 WU at a time on your 560 you will notice an increase in your RAC.

After a reinstall of Lunatics v0.41 it appears that the units are coming back as valid. Fingers crossed.
Thanks to all for the assistance.
