I'll try this once more, and 'if' I err, please tell me so without banning me. I am entranced with this movie. Inside Llewyn Davis. Partly because I think it is a great movie, partly because it is a mixture of the lives of two great folk artists, Dave Van Ronk and Bob Dylan. And a lot of others who have graced my life with their souls over the years. I'll post the first trailer, and then the sound track. If either offends anybody, let me know before the freaking ban clock starts ticking...'K? The trailer...there are many. This one features the tabby cat... The Kittyman HAS the cat.... And the real prize is the soundtrack. To have Dave Van Ronk in particular finally acknowledged like this warms my heart. Full sound track....very nice. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." From an old cat. To you young cats. You really should know where some of us older cats are coming from............ Great guitar. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

OH, Jesus, what is THAT? Uh, it's a cat. 'Folk Singer with a cat.........' I love cats. I loved Dave Van Ronk. I love this movie. It should have gotten more than one mention for movie mixing, which it did showed up in about last place. The Coens did an excellent work with this one, and have received all too little notice for it mainstream... 'Course I always loved the underdog...er, underkitty. Due out in the vid houses March 11th, so I have been told. I hope that the flick finally gets it's due from the general public. And that I am finally vindicated for putting my feelings behind something of worth. Inside me, at times. Shades of so many things I have spoken of for so many years... Meowsigh. It somehow reveals what so many like myself have shied behind for so long have wished to say.... Which was mainly, let us be us. The original soundtrack is amazing. Uh, oh oh. The ILD album cover spoofed in the flick was a dead nailer for Inside Dave Van Ronk....but, of course, they wanted that. A scene or two in the movie is also a dead nailer for the cover of Dylan's album, with him walking down a street, lonely, half frozen. You know the one. I have it, most of you have seen it. So poetic, so justifying. Such a movie. 'When it was never new, and it never get's old.........it's a folk song.' "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Yeah, life as a champion of things that no longer matter to many has done me well. Been ignored, spit at, ignored, banned, spit at, ignored, banned again. Shall I go on? I suppose I shall, in my little way, champion the underdog. I once told a story about a man who, against all odds, got his record heard. Little label called Rounder Records.......old, obscure, folk label. They are large now. Found a guy nobody else would have. Took him on. And the rest, as the saying goes, is history. I bought several copies of his first album. Gave them out as gifts when customers would have a serious listen to some speakers I was trying to sell at the stereo shop where I worked back in those days. I sold a LOT of speakers. Out the door I went. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
