Here are the seti account preference settings: SETI@home Enhanced: yes Astropulse v505: no SETI@home v7: yes AstroPulse v6: no I have manually downloaded the setiathome_7.01_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu executable but haven't patched up the app_info.xml yet, since message board advice is to remove it to allow project reset to download the stock applications. As noted in the event log, the astropulse_6.03_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu application was download and a workunit for it was download and is running. (I would prefer to use the KWSN optimized astropulse application but since the stock ap is already running I won't interrupt it.) Not sure what it means, if anything, that the ap v6 is marked as "no" yet the executable + workunit were download automatically, not at the project "reset" but after I manually initiated a scheduler update. Once the WU queue has drained I am inclined to put back the app_info.xml file and edit it to point to the setiathome_7.01 executable and see if that will fly. |

... the ap v6 is marked as "no" yet the executable + workunit were download automatically ... Because of this: If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? yes  - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)  |

...making progress... maybe issue resolved... I let the WU queue drain and then restored an edited app_info.xml file configured to allow seti enhanced, seti v7, and astropulse WUs. (Foolishly) Re-allowed new tasks before stopping/restarting boinc. (Which means the new app_info.xml file was not read.) After this false start, did the proper boinc stop/restart and then a seti project reset. Now running a v7 workunit, with two more in the queue, and an astropulse workunit with the KWSN optimized code. Somebody will, no doubt, jump in and correct me if I have concluded that a system configured to run optimized, as well as, stock applications will fall into the anonymous platform category for which boinc "automatic" downloads of new application releases will not work. I think my two-year-old notes, when I first installed optimized code, stated as much. |
