WE'RE UP !!!!! Uploads work, and completed uploads can be reported !!! Downloads, not yet. Also, the Cricket graphs don't yet reflect the work flow. All in good time. |

Okay, the downloads work - really work! The speeds are amazing. The whole workunit downloads in just a second or two. Awesome! Thanks to all the Berkeley crew for an impressive feat. All your planning and labeling seems to have been flawless. THANK YOU! |

Thats because of the way the jobs are being transferred between splitters/upload queue/upload servers. Files are going out, and at more than twice the speed at which they did before the server relocation. I bet that with more tweaking, the speeds will be even better, and work will be more constantly available. |

Well i've read somewhere some time ago that they optimised the entire distribution system for the 100M link. I can imagine that those optimizations are an extra strain on the servers which make the servers the bottleneck at 2 times the demand |

Well one of my boxes picked up 3 new work units on a manual update, and they downloaded before I could flip over to the transfer screen to see how fast it was :) This is promising, but I wonder what will fail now the bottleneck of the 100mb line is removed.... Of course the slow transfers and retries were probably putting a lot more load on the servers anyway. Now that the downloads seem to complete in a second, the server should have more free resources and be able to cope with more downloads? Ian |

Oh sweet bandwidth! Uploaded 18 AP results in 7 seconds. 12 MB results on the other machine in about 5. Scheduler contacts are also nearly-instant. Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |
