	I just set up BOINC on a FreeBSD machine for the first time. It connects to the project ok, but every WU downloaded has a wrong file size, always larger than expected. Of course the checksum fails on these too. Every one looks like this: 195: 08-Mar-2013 15:13:36 (low) [SETI@home] Started download of 15my12ab.20217.6304.206158430217.10.107 203: 08-Mar-2013 15:14:03 (low) [SETI@home] Finished download of 15my12ab.20217.6304.206158430217.10.107 205: 08-Mar-2013 15:14:03 (internal error) [SETI@home] [error] File 15my12ab.20217.6304.206158430217.10.107 has wrong size: expected 375636, got 398420 206: 08-Mar-2013 15:14:03 (internal error) [SETI@home] [error] Checksum or signature error for 15my12ab.20217.6304.206158430217.10.107 Not sure where to begin troubleshooting something like this...

	Checked again this morning and it is still failing. I'm stuck.

	Good one, that fixed it. Now, I am getting 100% computation errors that I need to track down. I am beginning to think this machine is haunted or something.

	Never seen this one before. There doesn't seem to be any documentation for error code 8. <core_client_version>7.0.28</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> process exited with code 8 (0x8, -248) </message> <stderr_txt> execv: Exec format error </stderr_txt> ]]>

	Good one, that fixed it. Now it would be interesting to know, why BOINC is doing such stupid things on different platforms and also different BOINC versions... Seems to be a bug or something. My "permanent fix" for this is btw. increasing the max. file size for stdoutdae.txt to 10MB and a script, which deletes the file on shutdown. You also have some of those in your Astropulse tasks, but no idea what that means: <core_client_version>7.0.28</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> process got signal 11 </message> <stderr_txt> </stderr_txt> ]]> ____________ .

	Is that a FreeBSD version of BOINC 7.0.28 that you are trying to use ? If so, you will need also a FreeBSD app to do Seti@home and/or AstroPulse work. These are not automatically downloaded, as far as i know. ____________ _\\|/_ U r s

	Oddly enough, sometime over the weekend everything started working. I guess the ghosts in the machine finished their party and bugged out. I am strongly inclined to accept the situation without a lot of fuss, although it would be nice to know what was going on. Oh well... :)
