Today that speed for downloading is ridiculous.

I do not understand, why the downloadspeed is slower as with ancient modems 20 years ago.

Even an old 16.6 Kb-modem isn faster.

It looks like, that loading down workunits needs longer than the cpu/gpu-time to fulfill those workunits.

Common complaint. There are several known issues, some of which can be solved with an injection of money like server problems, and lack of staff. But the big problem - lack of connection bandwidth is a "university political" issue and is "not that easy" to solve :-(

A high speed link to the lab. S@H has a 100Mb link to the lab, and it is saturated. If we can rustle up a couple hundred thousand, tht could be fixed. The basic problem is campus politics, but it could be solved with enough green backs.
