Looking at the design it has two flat anvils that supposedly grip something reasonably thin when closed. Metal plate holder? Else its far too simple to be a nut cracker. Ice cube holder?

Ice cube holder - no

nutcracker - no

For canning - no

You all are getting close. As you can see from the next image clue it is plies like in nature so yes it can hold stuff.

Now we can let this go as “A holder of things” or you can dig deeper and tell me what Vita Craft made this for it for.

They are for measuring quantities, and are of specific sizes. I'll award you the win if you can give me the generic title of such objects.

Ok Julie, you gave me the correct description of measuring spoons. They ate 1 Tblsp, 1 tsp, 1/2 tsp, and 1/4 tsp.
