Why has it been so difficult to detect alien signals? Well, I suspect alien transmissions will be concise, something equivalent to:

"NI!"

If asked in the right way it is a cheap win for the Chinese this could embarrass

the us into minimal support of seti again.

Hit the Chinese up for an endowment as well, can you say Chinese programmer at

Berkeley.

I would be thankful for that.
