not sure what happened but it was working fine for a couple of days then suddenly it will only use my GPU and not my CPU.

i check all my preferences on boinc and on the website and have it set to use all my CPUs but still will only use my GPU.

anyone know how to fix this?

thanks in advance!

This is a "normal" situation - BOINC will always endeavour to feed the faster processor first, and as most GPU are faster than most CPU then the GPU is fed first. There's not a lot you can do about this apart from sit back and hope that one day the delivery system will be up to supplying everyone's needs all the time.

The tasks are assigned to a processor type when they are assigned to the computer.

Well they have all been being assigned to GPUs on my end the last 5 days, up to that point I ran 2 CPU tasks and 2 GPU tasks day in and day out.

Someone else posted that info in another thread a few days ago.

thank you for your responses.

its unfortunate that it wants to only use my GPU since it's pretty low end but my CPU is intel 2700k (4 cores 8 threads).

i just really wanted to make sure nothing was broken on my end.

i'll let things run and hope it decides to use the CPU again.

again thanks.

It may seem counter intuitive, but you may want to reduce the size of your queue. The server fills up the queue for the fastest processor first, then continues on to the slower ones. If there are limited tasks available, you get the same number allocated across the processors available.
