It is truly a wonderful thing that there are sites set up by folks who care where simply giving a little mousey click can generate hard results like food for our 'temporarily housed' domestic animal friends.

Along the same lines, and I am sure in part it has been already done.
If I were financially independent and retired with the time.

I always wished to start a 'Missing Kitty Hotline' site.

With lost kitty reports from every corner of the nation.
And 'I found a kitty' reports from every corner of the nation.

I have seen some that want you to pay $40.00 or more to list your kitty as missing. That is sooooooooooooo bogus. XXXwholes trying to profit off of somebody else's misery. Just galls me.
I was trying to help find a lost kitty a year or so ago and ran across more than a few of those sites.

I also would set up free 'kitty chipping' sites around the nation.
You can microchip a kitty in seconds and register them for life.
That would be soooooooooooo wonderful.
Kitten gets chipped for life. Not a meow, not a whimper. Just that simple. And if kitty ever gets away, she can phone home.

I would also fully fund ALL domestic TNR groups. Without the sometimes 6 month wait that is currently in place for some.
Get kitty fixed and let her go!!

Somewhere in the (un)known Universe?

I visit the grranimal clicky sites every day.

The least I can do.

Lori and I have been talking about going out to the shelter again for a visit and perhaps some little contributions.

It's just such a heartbreaking thingy to see all the little kitties lined up in their cages.

I have given many donations to the Fox Valley Humane Association.......

But, it seems it is never enough to cover.

Lori, one day on a visit, spied this big eyed gray haired kitty in the window.
That would be her Starbucks kitty today. His 8th birthday is coming up soon.

Just that one glance through the window, and she knew.

He has become the most wonderful, loving kitty.

She did break down and buy two purebred Maine Coons.

And that was because we had driven a few hundred miles of round trips to a shelter to adopt Oscar. Who we lost after a few years from cancer. But, once you know a Maine Coon....... Let's just say there are few other breeds that are so wonderful.

Kitties are very smart and perceptive.
Most realize once they are taken out of their cage and given a loving home.
And they are forever most grateful forever after.

My kitties were all barnyard rescues.
They are my children. My life, my lovers.

As they grow older with me, they get even more affectionate.
Tigger II was, for her younger years, most standoffish.
She can now hardly not be by my side.

Such is kitty love.
