What sort of size is it? I don't know precisely, but something like 6 inches or so on a side. BOINC WIKI |

Is it some sort of hot plate to keep food warm? I'm thinking heat coming up through the holes rather than liquid draining down. Nope. BOINC WIKI |

Is it part of another kitchen tool? There is another kitchen tool that needs to be used in conjunction with this one, but this is not a part of something larger. BOINC WIKI |

As far as I can tell, the holes are not a useful feature. If made now, it would likely be made out of clear plastic instead of metal. BOINC WIKI |
