GPU Crunching but....

Running:
Corei7 2.8 ghz with 16 gigs 1333 memory, ATI Radeon 4850 w/ 512 megs.
Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1

I've got the thing crunching astropulse units just fine it appears and temps are
running in what I'd call a optimal state.

My problem: looks like I'm running a non-optimized cruncher at this point on the
CPU side.

What I'd ideally like to do is get the optimized cruncher going alongside the GPU.

I'll obviously have to increase the fan speeds to avoid damaging anything of
course.

Is there an easy way to edit the .xml file to allow for the optimized crunching
(say Lunatics) to be run while still allowing for OpenCL crunching on the
video card?

What's the best way to go about this?

the ATI AP app is based on the Lunatics AP app. SO you'd just be changing names and still be running a similar, if not the same, app. Lunatics installer does all the work. You can even install the MB app for your GPU through the installer. Your GPU should be able to handle it.

for the CPU try the SSE3 app for intel processors. It may run better on the SSSE3 but other will have to fill you in on that. Either way your CPU and GPU are both quite capable of handling the work.

I'd up the GPU fan speed to about 60% to keep the temps down. You may want to bump it up 10% at a time to see when the max benefit with minimum speed is found. Mine is around 65-70%
