I've noticed mutliple times today that the "new post" tag appearred on a thread I had posted to and when I reentered the thread the last post is my own.

On a completely unrelated note. I noticed that Mozilla doesn't like when I tab back out of a thread after reading it. It still shows it as being unread.

However when I click on the forum header it will show all the threads I had previously read as having been read.

Are we sure the Mods aren't hiding the new posts?

I have observed this behavior for the last two years on all three major browsers. I've gotten into the habit of not using the back button on these forums.

this is immediately after I've posted so I don't think that they'd have time to even read a post let alone hide it after my post is made

Second point. Agreed, I just tend to ignore it though it is annoying to see.

I use IE 7 or 8 at work and it doesn't appear to do the unread thread thing

Not us mods, but we might do it if you ask us nicely ;-)

It would appear to be an artefact of the way the flags are calculated, when you post to a thread several fields are updated, when you leave the thread a few more get updated, now if the sequence of updates and actions gets slightly out of step you get this happen. I can't comment on the behaviour of different browsers as I normally only use Firefox.
