You will always get a usable work unit faster if you're using all available bandwidth for the one transfer; how is that going to "actually make things worse" exactly? As a USER. |

You will always get a usable work unit faster if you're using all available bandwidth for the one transfer; how is that going to "actually make things worse" exactly? Because of the delay getting packets from one place to another, a single file cannot use all of your bandwidth. BOINC WIKI |

I have one computer that receives and sends data, and the other one setting right beside it gets retry after retry. Most times the message is: Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. Do I have something wrong with the one computer? It is now out of work... It has been running fine for a couple of months until this... |

Try doing this to see if it helps: Open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> CMD then press Enter). At the command prompt type IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS. Most of the time the problem is simply that SETI's internet bandwidth is completely maxed out. It may take several attempts, but work usually gets through in most cases. |

I'd just like to mention that the other project I contribute to (WCG) has started doing GPU WU's and since then I've not run short of SETI work. I guess the "solution" was to contribute some GPU time to another project XD |
