Just swapped one of my machines over to Suse Linux from W2K. Have noticed a big increase in the number of pendings and a big reduction in the credits claimed. Speed is not much different. Is this normal? |

yes it is normal. you should compile your own client and optimize it. that will increase your benchmarkresults and your claimed credits. howto compile + optimized clients: http://www.pperry.f2s.com/ or just optimized clients: boinc.us.tt |

Thanks for that info, I've just installed one of the pre-optimized clients which worked OK. This should have an effect on the credits my machine is claiming but how come the pendings have grown in number, substantially? Dont understand that one? Edit - Just compared the benchmarks - W2K has been well and truly trounced! |

The pendings sound perfectly normal to me. 3 users need to return the result before they get credit. As you've just switched to a new client/platform, you've downloaded a fresh set of work and are returning results relatively quickly in the allowed 14 day period. As your cache level builds up and you start returning results a little later, they'll probably get credited quicker and you'll see less pending results.
