:( have 0 tasks for cpu and 0 tasks for gpu in BOINC manager and receive the "temp down message"

9/21/2012 4:19:16 PM | SETI@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU and ATI
9/21/2012 4:20:00 PM | SETI@home | Scheduler request failed: Failure when receiving data from the peer
9/21/2012 4:20:04 PM | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
9/21/2012 4:20:05 PM | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Yeah, I'm running on empty on my Xeon server too. Any GPU jobs get dispatched so quickly I don't see them, and CPU jobs are not being replenished. The frequency of queries to the master database seemed anomalously high (>2000/sec) for a while too. Either something needs a kick, or that network upgrade is becoming more and more urgent.

Same here, one of my computers is down to zero tasks for ati.

It's requesting GPU tasks, but none are comming down.

The other has about 11 ati tasks before it to runs out.

All three computers are still crunching CPU tasks, and have plenty of work.

The kitties are floating about even for now.
Had 60,000 tasks a couple of weeks ago, now down to about 54k and holding pretty steady. This is spread around 9 rigs, mind you.

The kitties shall not run out of kibbles any time soon.

Between shorties and Astropulse, the upload/download/scheduler pipe is maxed out again. My P4 got either "no tasks available" or "project may be down" messages all day Friday 9/21, but just before midnight (PDT) it got lucky and scored 15 MB tasks, so it will be good for a day or so.

It's the luck of the draw. As usual with this project, patience is not just a virtue, it's a requirement.

Not quite stopped here, but need multiple manual retries to get them through. However given the direction the cricket graph is going I suspect something yellow is roosting in the upload server. Quack.

I blame all that careless talk on these boards about how well things have been going for the last few months. People really should know better than to tempt fate like that.

I hope the problem can be solved remotely otherwise I suspect it will persist until Monday pm UK time when someone in California finally ets out of bed and gives the upload server a good kicking.

Well, I haven't really been gone. As you can see from my RAC, I let my computers work mostly on Beta now. That will continue, until MB V7 is released here on main, both CPU and GPU.

And I end this reply with yet another little philosophic gem:

The question is Sten - which comes first, the mood or the mode...

I guess that depends upon if you're basically a positive or a negative person.... :-)

Uploads are grumpy for me as well. Every so often one goes through but I have an entire overnight's pile of uploads that want to get posted before 0Z tonight.

Don't care how, "just make it go".

Cricket graph shows uploads improving. Maybe we are through the worst of it.
