I've been having trouble reporting tasks, scheduler contacts keep timing out, and have have had to limit max_tasks_reported to 20 to get them reported, Just had another look at my log, and overnight there were a few more Scheduler timeouts. Luckily most requests are resulting in work. Grant Darwin NT |

Well stuck downloads but kicked & now progressing. Why should I end up with no work with a 7-day cache? Was just saying not-requesting-new-tasks. Nothing up with the servers or cricket graph. & why does it always happen when my RAC is at its highest... |

Is anyone else getting errors try to resolve boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu. No issues here. c:\>nslookup boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu Server: ns1.labnet Address: 192.168.105.31 Non-authoritative answer: Name: boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu Addresses: 208.68.240.18 208.68.240.13 Does that box forward to a public DNS & have you tried a lookup on an upstream server? Interesting - for about an hour I couldn't get in, but by going in via www.berkeley.edu I was able to. That makes me think that one of the DNS servers has become a little confused Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Thanks for the info. I can resolve boinc.berkeley.edu but not things in the ssl.berkeley.edu domain. There must be some issues with our corporate external DNS servers. |

It looks like the dns for the ssl might be having issues. Could be your upstream is looking at the ssl dns instead of the root berkeley one I suppose. > server ns1.berkeley.edu Default Server: ns1.berkeley.edu Addresses: 128.32.136.9 128.32.206.9 > boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu Server: ns1.berkeley.edu Addresses: 128.32.136.9 128.32.206.9 Name: boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu Addresses: 208.68.240.18 208.68.240.13 > server ns1.ssl.berkeley.edu Default Server: ns1.ssl.berkeley.edu Addresses: 128.32.147.7 128.32.13.7 > boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu Server: ns1.ssl.berkeley.edu Addresses: 128.32.147.7 128.32.13.7 *** ns1.ssl.berkeley.edu can't find boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu: Query refused > SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

There's also some discussion of what looks to me like a possible routing problem at Lunatics. Or perhaps a peering problem - where a backbone carrier will agree to carry the traffic of some ISPs, but not others. |

About the time I got all the servers loaded with entries in their "hosts" file, the problem with our corporate DNS servers being able to reach the ssl.berkeley.edu domain cleared. I can once again resolve things properly with DNS. |

There's also some discussion of what looks to me like a possible routing problem at Lunatics. Could be some left over infected DNS servers out there pointing people to the wrong places I suppose. Hey man, Like, what happened. Oscar is offline. And a dinosaur sized bite out of the cricket graph. I think The Duck has devolved into a tyranosaurus sized graph muncher. |
