Hi, i've just recently reinstalled boinc for giving my GPU something to do as i rarely seem be making full use of it. I'm only running Seti@home project and i want to configure it to run about 3 work units on my GTX 580. I've tried searching for the solution but i couldnt find out how to do it. Currently a seti CUDA work unit only uses 30% GPU and 290MB of VRAM. Is there any specific way of configuring it? I couldnt find any of the files mentioned in any of the solutions. I also tried to configure it to only use GPU but i keep getting SETI CPU tasks. System specs is lenovo T61p Core2duo @ 2.4 Ghz, 8GB RAM GPU 0 nvidia quadro 570M GPU 1 nvidia GTX 580 I use the GPU for coding and i dont mind leaving it running 24/7. Running one GPU work unit uses less than 20% CPU. I have very little knowledge and experience in configuring boinc. Thanks (edit) what would happen to boinc if i were to hot plug the GPU while it was running? My laptop can hot plug certain devices. Assume the work unit is suspended before hot plugging and resumed after it is plugged back in. Windows doesnt mind hot plugging of devices but you would manually need to scan for new hardware. What sort of data type is used for crunching in Seti@home? is it double, float or integer 24 or 32 bit? the view graphics option is not available. The last time i used boinc it could display the graphical work performed for seti@home. Is there any way to solve this? Thanks |

The files that you have to find are in the BOINC data directory. The location of this directory is listed in the first few lines of the log. The default location in XP is c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC in Vista / 7 it is c:\ProgramData\BOINC. NOTE that Application Data and ProgramData are both hidden by default. BOINC WIKI |
