Came over to The Cafe to do a silly piece on Full Moons, but after reading this thread...

Was over at her place tonight. We watched War Horse...she has always loved horses. Brought a tear or two to both our eyes.
Many years ago I took her to see the Lipizzaner Stallions show.

She does not spend much time online, does not come to my Seti place at all, but said I should send her thanks to all who have wished her well.
(She also said she doesn't know how you all put up with me when I drink...LOL.)

She is generally low on energy and stamina, but has been holding up rather well, I think. Friday nights are the night she has to do her evil shot. That sets her back a bit.

Tomorrow her grandson is coming to visit her, and she is looking forward to that.

Thanks from me for helping to brighten her days a bit.

Love you all sooooooooooo much.

I am not so nearly as strong as my gurl iz.
Not even close.
To say that I am her supporter at times would be a misnomer.
It is a rather symbiotic relationship.
I need her, and she needs me.
I have to shore up and be there for her, else I would be lost too.
The ship has no shore without the pier.

I sometimes lose grasp of just what holds me fast.

And she is fighting a tsunami these days.

I shall try to toss her the rope she so dearly needs right now.

I am pleased to note that the 5-pound box of coarse-ground salt I bought when you first warned us of this situation has hardly been touched. Only needed a few grains so far......

Maybe I'll make some soft pretzels this week. They go great with cream cheese, mustard, and salt.

Wrong kind of salt. And we don't usually need it for that here in the San Joaquin Valley.

Friends....the kittyman is in tears right now.
Tears of joy.

Lori just got a call from Froedtert about her blood tests from Monday.

At the 4 week mark, Lori's viral count is.......ZERO!!

OMG...............ZERO. The drugs are winning the battle so far!!!!!

Now, this does not mean the fight is over.
She has about 7 more weeks on the Incivek, along with the ribavirin and peginterferon. And then another 6 months on just the ribavirin and peginterferon.

After that, another 6 months of waiting and testing to see if there is any sign of the virus returning or if she has indeed achieved a total cure.

They cut back on the ribavirin a bit, as she has become anemic, which partially explains her extreme fatigue lately. And changed her anti-nausea meds, which were causing blurred vision, lack of concentration, and some tremors.

Needless to say, she was in tears also when she called me with the news. But it put some wind back in her sails, and it is the most hopeful I have heard her in years.

So, the fight shall continue.
God has answered my prayers today, and they shall not stop now.
Please continue to send yours, as it is still a long road ahead.

But today, that road does not seem quite as steep as it did before.
Oh, thank you, my Lord!
