Just be sure to use the lunatics optimizing package to get the most out of both your CPUs and GPUs. Can someone link me to where to download and install this, as well as a page that explains what it is and what it does? Thank you. |

I don't see the optimized apps on any of your hosts. If you are having trouble, feel free to ask! Can someone link me to where to download and install this, as well as a page that explains what it is and what it does? Unfortunately I don't know if there is a wiki on Lunatics. To help you along, the Lunatics apps are pretty much the de facto way of crunching, for most people here in the forums. They will also (almost) double the speed of your CPU and GPU*. If/when you feel like installing, why not come to the boards and someone will come along to help you in real-time. It's only a few boxes that you need to tick:) *Normally GPU speed does not double, but I think you are having the same problem that got me to install the opti apps. But that's another story! |

I don't see the optimized apps on any of your hosts. If you are having trouble, feel free to ask! The installer and release notes, specifically, are at http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php?module=Downloads;catd=9 - there's no Wiki, as such. Please note that the installer version available today, 0.39, has not yet been updated to be compatible with the new Astropulse v6.01 tasks - for reasons discussed elsewhere on this board, we're holding back on updating this one for a few more days. If you already have Astropulse v6.01 tasks showing in your BOINC Manager task list, do not use the Lunatics Installer until the new 0.40 version is available Announcements will be made both here and at Lunatics, of course, as soon as it is released. |
