Since after the outrage. have one computer out of fout that when try to report; get a message in the event log of a "http bad gateway". It will upload but will not report. Whose end is this problem on and what can I do about it? This is only on one computer. Do not have any other problems with the network except this one computer. bj |

So I guess will have to wait for the maintenance crew to fix the problem? Dont have a cc_config.xml file. |

Hi BJ, If you look in the panic thread there is an example of what to put in cc_config.xml its easy to make, just use notepad or a plain text editor. Copy the example and paste it into notepad or your text editor and save it as cc_config.xml Then put it in the boinc directory and tell boinc to read local config. If your 'C' drive is your main drive then its C:\ProgramData\BOINC\ Again, thats if you are using windows. I've used that method to upload over 200 results on my main machine and over 100 on another machine. So it does work. Regards, Cliff, Been there, Done that, Still no damm T shirt! |

keep in mind you need the 6.12.xx to do that It's OK, bj has v6.12 on all machines. But a useful reminder for shoulder-surfers. |

Hi BJ, Sorry about the question but how do you have it read the config file. I put it in the program files/boinc directory. |

Sorry about the question but how do you have it read the config file. I put it in the program files/boinc directory. The cc_config.xml needs to go in your Boinc Data directory, not the Boinc program files directory, the location is in your startup messages, and the directory is hidden by default, so you'll need to unhide it. menu => advanced => read config file Oops. Have it in the boincdata directory. Another question Where does that entry go into? Thanks bj |

menu => advanced => read config file Have BOINC Manager open in Advanced view. Drop down the Advanced menu, pick 'Read config file'. |

3/6/2012 9:47:02 AM | SETI@home | Reporting 10 completed tasks, requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA GPU That's fine, it understands your config file and is acting on it. Let it keep trying, or help it along peridically with the update button. Remember that'll we'll probably go into maintenance mode soon, perhaps in 15 minutes, perhaps 45 minutes. No point in hammering the button after that starts. |

Good grief You don't need to keep reading the file (though it'll do no harm if you do) - that '10 at a time' is now permanently set until you delete the file and go back to normal. Somebody is in the lab already, and new work is being split - they should fix the other problem too, though we won't know it's done until it's done. |

Hi BJ, You know if you were having problems with getting more tasks when you uploaded your results files, then you can tell boinc not to get more tasks. Under projects menu, highlight seti@home then look at left hand menu. 3rd item is no new tasks. Doesnt stop you contacting the server to report:-) Regards, Cliff, Been there, Done that, Still no damm T shirt! |
