1) What happened to the Tasks page? It disappeared without any notification that I could find. Really is useful (at least the counts summary) when the system and/or RAC is lagging - like to know if my pendings are going up when RAC is declining. 2) Lately the Cricket graphs show the "bits out" as close to 10Mbps, when they used to be closer to 20. Any info on that? Thanks to any and all for your explanations/pointers to threads I missed which discuss these. |

You didn't miss anything other than the announcement that all of the result pages were disabled the other day in the Tech News. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Now that the tasks display has gone, probably for ever (it's hindering recovery: do *you* think it will ever come back?) is there any way of getting the task number, i.e. resultid, from the task name? From there I can get the workunit and continiue to keep track of my per-task run time and cpu time used on SETI. |

As the result ID is generated for each host that gets assigned a task. However the work unit ID is probably also generated sequentially for each task the splitters make without any reference to the task name. Unlike the hashes that are used to decipher which /sah/download_fanout/ folder the tasks are kept in for download. There is often a "everything seems to be working, lets give it a bit just in case it all falls apart again" moment after you finish fixing something. At least they left the stats generator enabled. ( Now that someone mentioned it I imagine it too will be off for a week or two again. I blame jarvin for being up the topic that resulted in the comment. :D ) SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

I'm sure they'll re-enable the tasks page... I hope they bring it back next week. It is rather handy not to only check for problems with work distribution and cache levels, but also to look for any sudden rise in error or invalid tasks being sent back by the crunchers. I'm sure they'll re-enable the tasks page... That's all I use it for; errors. I shudder to think what one of my machines (the one that likes to have problems whenever it gets new CUDA work after not having any) might be doing to the work it is getting. That one's in my office and I can't check it constantly. One day the new servers and new JBOD array will be installed and things willbe better than normal. It will be nice to be able to check for scores of errors once again. |

I'm sure they'll re-enable the tasks page... Indeed. The only way of checking my cache levels at the moment is by the "This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress" messages. They have disabled the task view many many times before, temporary (couple of days or so), and it always has come back again. A few times, they have simply forgotten to enable it again, and it's been gone for a week or so, before they remembered that it was disabled. Who are you and what have you done with Sten-Arne??? This post is totally devoid of humor, cynicism, and whining, and therefore cannot possibly be from the real Sten-Arne.
