Looks like the crickets are still hiding from the kitties this morning. If they would just offer up some WUs, the kitties wouldn't bother them...... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Well back of sorts - now getting http errors, and it doesn't look as if the splitters have woken up yet... The old girl is taking a bit of cranking this morning, just spray some "easystart" in the intake and give her another go Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Looks like they have the scheduling server turned off right now and may be doing some cleanup. The validator/deleter processes look like they are working again, as my 'valid tasks' and pending totals are finally starting to come down. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Looks like they have the scheduling server turned off right now and may be doing some cleanup. I just want to report the 400 or so WU from my AMD machine, it was working on Prime Grid until yesterday afternoon and then starting on SETI. A 560 and a 460 can go through work in a hurry if it wants too. [edit]Looks like the reporting actually went through at one point, but it did not get the acknowledgment from the server[/edit] |

Is it me, or is there a period of time every year (maybe over a two or three week period) where everything just seems to go TU ? Rest of the year is pretty stable. The folks in the lab are just having a bit of bad luck. It probably helps with several things borking up at the same time as it allows them to fix them all at once, more or less. Gives them a bit of time to get some non-critcal stuff done in between server woes. Even though a lot of problems seem to be a "critical issue" at the moment :) Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club. |

Both my little ones have reported and one even got a WU, but my main machine has made several attempts to report 990 tasks and has failed every time. Kevin |

Well, I see that ET still has control of the servers and is doing their best to throttle the distribution of new work. Most of the ones I get say they need my name, email addy and password, address and SSN so they can improve my email's security, but I think it's actually Ferengi phishing. Hi, Hmm did you say they are routing the completed WU's through the white plains missile base where they have secret missiles stashed and the secret defense facility's. Maybe Seti finally found something and thats why no WU's, No use looking for something when you know where it is and its coming. OMG it's true the 2012 thing get out your gun's and prepare to defend yourselves there coming. That would explain why my kitties are staring out the window up at the sky they are here. LOL. Anyway Yes I have notice lag on the forums and the boinc has been dropping transfers something terrible WU's half uploaded half downloaded transfers started at 40k a second and drop to .1k 2 seconds later etc. Gimme BEER and WU's!!!! |

Things seem strange as http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6379672 reports zero in progess, but the system keeps doing: 22/02/2012 19:24:55 | SETI@home | Reporting 475 completed tasks, requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA GPU which keeps failing. My other system has managed to return 292 OK though. I guess things will sort themselves out in time. |

Same here; my four big machines can't get a report in (one of them is dry) but most of the littler ones can report fine. I'm starting to wonder if they should separate reporting and requesting new work. |

One of the newer improvements available in BOINC, following experiences like this, is a config option: <max_tasks_reported>N</max_tasks_reported> Though you may need to make it a lot less than 1,000! I couldn't even get 13 through a while back. |

One of the newer improvements available in BOINC, following experiences like this, is a config option: Thanks, Richard; I set it to 10 on my home machine but I'm currently getting "cannot connect to server" rather than HTML or timeout errors (yes, I did flush the DNS cache...). |

One of the newer improvements available in BOINC, following experiences like this, is a config option: I hope your home machine is one of your v6.12.34 machines - all but three on your account are v6.10 or earlier, where it won't work. |

Yes, HomePC01. It's reporting that it's reporting 10 completed tasks, but now it's back to "HTTP internal server error". Guess I need to update a few BOINCs but for some Linux machines I'm stuck with too old an OS for things that want more modern libraries. [Another failure to connect to server just now...] |
