I have a problem. Because I was away for 3 weeks during my holidays, my running WU is way beyond report deadline. And because BOINC wants to finish crunching on it I dont't have enough time for the next waiting WUs. Is there any way to kill the old WU that there is a chance to get the others finished before report deadline? Otherwise I won't get any credit anymore :(

Try this ... Copy down the WU ID Number you don't want to finish to a piece of paper.

1. Stop the BOINC Client

2. Go into your C:Program Files-BOINC-projects folder

3. Delete that Work Unit Only

4. Start BOINC back up

What should happen is BOINC will look for that WU to finish it & when it can't find it then it will give you some sort of error message and proceed to the next WU it wants to do ... Good Luck

If that don't work then just reset the project and get new WU's ...

That may or may not work because boinc copies the file to the slot/X directory to process.

What I've done in the past is find the work unit id, exit boinc, go into the boinc directory / slots and you'll see a bunch of sub-directories all numbered.. 1, 2, 3, etc. Find the slot directory that has the work unit and delete all of the files in that directory (but keep the directory itself there).

Then start boinc again and it'll error out on that work unit. Once the next expired work unit starts, exit boinc and do the same thing.

Make sure you delete the files from the right slot directory - they contain all of the paused work units for all projects that computer is attached to.

Just remember, though, it is still possible (sometimes) to get credit for a WU even though it has passed its due date. If the WU has not reached a quorum yet, your WU will still be accepted and you will still get credit for the work completed.

Away on Holiday???? What the heck is a holiday??? Sheesh, work 24/7, 7 days a week and you'd stop worrying about credit. lol

4.5x has the ability built in. However, I would not advise doing this unless you like using somewhat untested code.

Especially since v4.52-v4.55 have a fatal upload-bug. ;)
