You can edit your post within an hour after creation and should do so to delete your email address. It's not very wise to post email addresses on a public forum. As to your question, no you can't "merge" your old account and the newly created one, but you can change the data in the new one to rubbish, then log out and log in to your "old" account. There, change the email address (and user name if you wish) to the new entries. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Was your old account pre-BOINC? If so you only need the name of your old email account (not the password) and follow the link here. |

Hi, I sorry about the mess. I don't understand. The old account has 860,000 work units - how can I "change the data in the new one to rubbish, then log out and log in to your "old" account". I have not got the old password. Thanks. |

1) The question is: do you know the "email" defined/used now in your old account and the password to your old account? (even if that "email" (in your old account here) is changed (by your wife?) to something like aaaaaa@bbbb.ccc you can use it to log-in your old account) 2) If you don't know the "email" and password to your old account: do you have access to at least one of those "three pc's"? (we can tell you how to use the <authenticator> stored on every PC connected to SETI, no need of "email" and password. In fact the full info is here under "2)" (the only "problem" for you may be to find the "BOINC data directory"): http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/get_passwd.php Don't post the <authenticator> here in the forum! It is the real key to your old account, use it only to log-in by the form linked above. ) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Yes, thank you. " 2) If you don't know the "email" and password to your old account: do you have access to at least one of those "three pc's"?" Yes, I'm at one. I see task and work unit as: 2244613759 899180761 2218755539 886963067 I don't understand this: "(even if that "email" (in your old account here) is changed (by your wife?) to something like aaaaaa@bbbb.ccc you can use it to log-in your old account)" I don't have the password. Do you want my old name? Thanks. |

Did you even read the message I linked to in my last post? There I wrote: You probably created a new account when adding your computer(s), instead of using your existing account. Gruß, Gundolf |

I have an old account, jpdevaney@juno.com. My wife is mad about something, She took the password. She changed it. I'm not going to fight over it. I opened a new account, this one. This pc I had just reloaded from scratch. I tried under Documents and Settings, All Users - no further. Also under Program Files, Boinc - no further. Here again are those settings, task and work unit: 2244613759 899180761 2218755539 886963067 I understand what you're saying at first, I'm sorry for the trouble. Jim |

You do realize that changing your email password does not change your password here, right? The SETI servers do not authenticate your login using your email servers, the email address is just an anchor as it should be unique per user. |

Thank you. I assumed it was the same. That fixes it. Jim |
