I am down to just my 3 GPU's crunching.

GTX 670 rumored to launch today. Thought I'd share a couple of interesting links before it does...

I wonder if nVidia will show up to give Seti a hand... NVIDIA and the Folding@Home group have sent over a benchmarkable version of the client with preliminary optimizations for GK104. Folding@Home and similar initiatives are still one of the most popular consumer compute workloads, so it’s something NVIDIA wants their GPUs to do well at. ...and does so by using fewer watts than a 560Ti!:o At 317W from the wall it’s 45W less than the GTX 680 for roughly 90% of the gaming performance, and this is in fact is lower power consumption than anything except the Radeon HD 7870. Even the GTX 560 Ti (which isn’t in this chart) is higher at 333W, reflecting the fact that GK104 is the true successor to GF114, and which would make GTX 670 the successor to GTX 560 from a design perspective. GTX670s in stock at the egg....

I wonder if nVidia will show up to give Seti a hand... Been working for some time quite closely with their registered development program. Einstein devs' & my own reports apparently got some bug fixes in play, and Kepler intro went smoothly as far as I'm concerned. Newer builds (than x41g release) in testing are scaling quite nicely on Kepler GPUs thanks @ 1.5-2x 6.10 on GTX 680 ;), though indications are the GPU is still underutilised, and it'll take some time to push the architecture as far as possible. It's looking like x41x (in closed Pre-Alpha) might be Stock Cuda multibeam V7, though only a Cuda 3.2 build for widest driver compatibility. Cuda 4.1 (at least, maybe optionally 4.2 for Keplers) will be available third party. Still got some loose ends to tie up before pestering Eric with an updated build to install at Beta. The V7 multibeam introduction should IMO go fairly smoothly, and see some further technological jumps afterwards. GTX670s in stock at the egg.... My son just ordered one. I see we are back, or did we just stay, at the prices here being the same numbers but the symbol changes. when the exchange rate is £1 = $1.61 in my books $399 should equal £248 but are £300 before taxes.

Well looking at that graph I think I'll stick to the GTX580................

Well looking at that graph I think I'll stick to the GTX580................ Being the same GPU cut back a notch, dp performance will be similarly cutback. Those needing high double precision performance for other purposes (not a heavy impact here), will probably want to wait for 'BigK' jason ____________ "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. Just ordered 2 of the eVGA SSC Signatures at Newegg. Finally I find a worthy set for replacement of the trusty GTX 480.

Just ordered 2 of the eVGA SSC Signatures at Newegg. Finally I find a worthy set for replacement of the trusty GTX 480. If you've been relying on that 480 for room heating & noise masking purposes like I was, you might need to get a warm blanket & leave the TV on for background noise. GTX670s in stock at the egg.... Ok so I am quoting my own post, but it seems I have backing. Apple co-founder Woz weighs in against tech giant on price discrimination Should this question be applied world wide?

Ok... who knows a good "shrink?"

Ok... who knows a good "shrink?" I may be able to help, my brother in law is a shrink, but to be honest with you I think he is madder than me, so that may not help. He may have an excuse though, one, as he married my sister and two, they have four daughters in the late teens and early twenties.

My father-in-law was a shrink. I'm hip. He may have an excuse though, one, as he married my sister and two, they have four daughters in the late teens and early twenties. I've got one about to turn 16 and another that just turned 18. I grok the whole scene. Does anyone have any useful drugs they'd like to share with an unfortunate soul? I hope I got my order in on time to be delivered tomorrow. Darn weekends.

I may be able to help, my brother in law is a shrink, but to be honest with you I think he is madder than me, so that may not help. Someone i used to know was a psych nurse. He was of the opinion that the only difference between the doctors & the paitients was that the doctors were allowed to leave while unsupervised. ____________ Grant Darwin NT.

DispalyPort even :-) Hehe. Are you sure that's the real thing, and not something manufactured in a basement factory for illegal computer hardware, somewhere in China? If they can't even get the word Display spelled correctly, then at least I would wonder if it was the real thing, or some cheap copy of a GTX 670. ____________ /The grumpy old Swede. DispalyPort even :-) Hehe. Are you sure that's the real thing, and not something manufactured in a basement factory for illegal computer hardware, somewhere in China? No, they are real. Those boxes were on my desk and the cards are now in my machine. MSI really rushed to get them to retailers it would appear. you can even see it on the MSI webpage: http://msi.com/product/vga/N670GTX-PM2D2GD5.html
