The laptop mentioned in the beginning of this thread has, after several months of inactivity, been resurrected. All other projects have been set to No New Tasks. Yet, with S@H set to allow new tasks, none have downloaded. I updated to the latest version of BOINC manager. In notices, I saw messages similar to what I reported here, so I followed Ozz's advice again. Nearly 18 hours later and still no tasks have been downloaded. My plan is to run with stock apps for a bit, then get the optimized apps. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

Quite simple - it is trying to get task types that have been depreciated for some time. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Rob, either I am not understanding your response or you did not read everything I said, specifically: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=72884&postid=1420638 No, resetting the project won't take care of that. You can either delete app_info.xml and then perform a project reset, or ... That is what I have done. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

Setiathome v6 is deprecated, Setiathome v7 is the current Seti app, if you don't have it enabled in your project preferences you won't get any of it, you have four project locations/venues available, do they all have Setiathome v7 enabled? Connected my old laptop too, a few weeks ago. Aborted the 2011 tasks on it, didn't get any new ones, which is good because the harddisk on that computer is practically dead. I just want to make one remark with my post, I loved the 6.10.43 version of Boinc on it, as it is much more detailed than the current version. Anyone knows if I can still get the older version back? rOZZ Music Pictures |

If you need help with that I did a little write up when 6.12 came out. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Looks like you just got 1 AP task to chew on. You are correct. Just after I responded to Rob, I rebooted the laptop to see if that would make a difference in helping along the rest. Two WUs being worked on, one with the assistance of the GPU. you have four project locations/venues available 4? I would think it shows 3. My office computer (yes, I have cleared using the work computer for BOINC) has not run BOINC for months, do to some persistent issue with updating the BOINC manager. 4? I would think it shows 3. My office computer (yes, I have cleared using the work computer for BOINC) has not run BOINC for months, do to some persistent issue with updating the BOINC manager. You have the default, home, school and work locations, if you don't know what they are then you probably aren't using them, and you're just using the default location, and since your other computers get Seti v7 work then there's nothing to worry about there, which probably means your computer wasn't asking for work much because it had been offline for so long. What is more worrying, why is your host got work for the opencl_ati_nocal_100 plan_class, your GPU doesn't have OpenCL capabilities, but does have CAL capability, So why is getting work for a plan_class that should only be used when NO CAL support is available, while OpenCL support is available. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=5338308 201 (0xc9) EXIT_MISSING_COPROC Claggy |

What is more worrying, why is your host got work for the opencl_ati_nocal_100 plan_class, your GPU doesn't have OpenCL capabilities, but does have CAL capability, Well, I am sure it's nothing I've done. I haven't installed the optimized apps yet, either. When I do, looks like I'll be getting them from http://www.arkayn.us/forum/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item104 ... ? What is more worrying, why is your host got work for the opencl_ati_nocal_100 plan_class, your GPU doesn't have OpenCL capabilities, but does have CAL capability, That is a neat trick. With all of the various methods that were required to send jobs to the right ATI cards there must have been a hole in the logic somewhere. I am sure the guys in the lab will look forward to sniffing that one out. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Re-asking, since no one addressed it yet: is http://www.arkayn.us/forum/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item114 still an ok place from which to get the optimized apps? Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

OK, the laptop discussed earlier is the oldest of 3. While I let that one go on two WUs using stock apps ... The 2nd oldest is http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6729536 and I assume, by some of the returned WUs' application listed, I still have optimized apps on there. Can anyone tell if I need to update them? This one is my newest. I've only had it about 2 months and have not bothered to install optimized apps on it yet. I'm going to bed soon, so if anyone call tell me what options I need to set, I can work on it early tomorrow morning. I also downloaded CPU-Z to perhaps give more info about the CPU and GPU, if that will help provide more info. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |
